If you do not currently have a contract with them, you can almost always negotiate Sunday Ticket for free if you agree to sign another 1 or 2 year deal.

I'm currently under contract for a few more months. I just called to cancel. Ive been a customer for 11 years. He first offered me 10 percent off. I declined. Then offered me 20 percent off. I declined. Thats as far as he went. Would not go below 20% off. I declined and canceled.

One problem with your logic (for me): I live in the Pacific Northwest. Decades ago, when the Seattle football team was born, the Networks decided that Seattle was suddenly going to be my new favorite team. I really hated it when a game that was touted all week long by the networks, say Dallas/Green Bay, Oakland/Kansas City, or some other meaningful game back in the day, was replaced by a Seattle/Tampon Bay game or some other crap game involving Seattle, often advertised as having "first pick in next year's draft implications". Because I was always forced to either watch them or mow the lawn whenever they played, I came to hate them, and I still hate them to this day. With Sunday NFL ticket I can almost always watch a game not involving them.
And the Sunday ticket not nearly as needed as it was 10 years ago.

Now you have Thursday Night, Sunday Night, Monday Night.

The games in England .

They spread the schedule out to so many different days that it cuts into the amount of games that are actually on Sunday .

And the games on Sunday they put most of those on at 12/1pm now . And most of the time you gonna wanna watch your local game anyway that you can get for free.

They don't put nearly as many 4/3PM games as they use to.
Some weeks there are only 2 4/3PM games the whole day and you get one of those 2 games for free on the local and the one you get for free is usually the best game anyway.

I notice when I get the Sunday ticket I find myself watching the games that I could have watched for free more often then not.

I'm the kind of action junkie gambler that likes to watch the game I have money on. So that's one nice part about the ticket, I can consider the whole slate without regard to what is being aired locally.

Yeah, me too. I just hate to pass up an opportunity to announce my hatred of the Seattle team.

Redzone is included with Sunday Ticket, so I'm not sure that's possible.

I don't get sunday ticket with my redzone subscription.

So...I guess it would be:

Redzone>Sunday Ticket & Redzone

^Obviously thats a from a value perspective. I'm not going to decline sunday ticket if it was free lol

That's just my opinion tho, if you have the money to blow, by all means...But for what redzone gives you, hard to really need Sunday Ticket.

I think I did OK in the annual Directv Sunday Ticket Dance. Got $180 one time credit(In Effect, Sunday Ticket Max at 1/2 price), $50 off per month for 12 Months for a new 1 year commitment(Fine, I wasn't going anywhere), and $19 month off for 6 months of the HBO/Showtime Sports Package. I was gonna cancel HBO and Showtime, which would have saved about $25. Got a CSR in Retention that was a Football Freak, don't know if it helped, but it didn't hurt.
First person I got offered 10% Discount. I said not acceptable, I'm gonna cancel, and they sent me to Retention. I specifically asked if it was retention, and she said yes, it would be. I asked the guy when I got there if this was retention, he said yes, and we got down to business.

I just unintentionally got it for free. Or close to free
Checking my bank text from the gulf and noticed my DTV bill was a lot higher then I thought it should be.
Then noticed they charged me a payment for the sumday ticket.

As I said earlier in this thread they called me last year around this time and just asked me if I would like the Sunday ticket for free.
No strings . Seriously they just called me last year unannounced and asked me if I'd like it for free. I said yes.

But what I forgot about was if I did not call them to cancel they were gonna auto bill me for this season.

I did not call them to cancel for this year so when I got billed for this season I just called them up and played dumb and pretty much said I did not agree to this.

So when all is said and done they made a deal with me.

Allowing me to have the Sunday ticket this year for just that one installment they charged me. It was supposed to be 4 payment and I'm only gonna get charged 1
