Mike White has done a fine job since supplanting rookie Zack Wilson under center but he got cracked last week in the Jets’ 20-12 loss to Buffalo and his ribs are still paying the price. New York is not a great offensive team to begin with, ranked 22nd in points scored, and if their primary weapon is hobbled, it will spell doom for their chances against a Lions’ offense that can score quickly and in bunches.
This is the proverbial high-flying offense versus a tough-as-nails defense but if you can’t score, you can’t win. I like Detroit’s chances as they have now won five of their last six and have averaged 30 points per game in those victories. Let’s take the opportunity to cash against a team whose quarterback may not be healthy enough to get his club in a position to score.
