hell of a call OP

I liked Pistons at beginning of the year but they were all F'd up with Smith being such a big part of their offense and keeping Monroe on the bench

Getting Meeks back has been big too. They needed outside shooting in the worst way

thx.... i liked the pistons at start of year due to their immense talent. knew they didn't do that well to start the season and then was shocked one day to see them at 3-19.......

but they weren't constructed properly. smith was a duck out of water and was taking minutes from munroe (sp?)..... so they had 4 minor stars or emerging stars but they were a mess.

i think far too many people look at nba teams like fantasy league........... like how was toronto going to replace gayyee's 20 ppg? well, pretty easily when he hadn't shot 50% ONE GAME all season and now DD/ross/Lowry/PP get more shots (PP came in trade with low expectations i should note) ....

Thanks, River City! Much appreciated! Looks like the Pistons will be a home dog vs the high flying Hawks tomorrow night. Vegas is giving Detroit a bit more respect, but Hawks -2.5.

Hawks 11-1 ATS last 12 games according to Vegasinsider. I was hoping for a much better line. Looks the line is catching up to Detroit. But, still gotta ride with them until they lose consecutive games for me. Hawks line up to 3 now at some places. I guess I will wait until tomorrow to play hopefully it reaches 4 or 5.

was looking at 82games.com net +/- today... KKorver has a simply amazing net +/- for hawks.

some good ATS streaks this year.... bucks had a really good one for awhile after parker went down.

Very tough call, which is why I usually stay away from individual games. I was looking at the futures angle and found this thread very helpful. But that's great info and we'll find out a lot about the Pistons in the coming weeks. They're really getting tested. Good fortune to you.

Explains detroit's rise really well...

Thinks GSW with green instead of David Lee is similar situation. I assume lesser.

Any other big addition by subtraction angles? Parker, Kobe, LAnce?

Skip Atlanta game if you want but get back on Detroit next game

Did due diligence... I think Detroit is 85%+ to make playoffs... My own inclination is 100%

i should stress that they think david lee being out of GSW lineup is "addition by subtraction"

What a fantastic comeback by Detroit! If Pope wasn't so off (4-16 from 3), they could have won easily. Detroit could have easily folded after being down 23. Impressive showing.

0-2 now.... still like it though.. nice to see detroit keep the general momentum even though they didn't get the cover..... know nothing about brooklyn. semi-forgotten team i think

I was fortunate enough to get the tie on the last two games. I will still play them until they lose consecutive games for me. But do you think the line is "catching up" to them?

glad to hear you got pushes in the last 2 games.

i think this is still a good situation but might not go on as long as the raptors did (13 months and arguably counting) for the following reasons:

josh smith and detroit was much higher profile situation than toronto/gaye

detroit has better talent than toronto. drummond makes a huge difference. also smith was holding back munroe who is an elite talent.
bettors saw toronto success and jumped on detroit much faster.

toronto got an unexpected benefit from sac/gaye trade. sac had one of the worst benches in league. traded much of it to toronto. then toronto had one of the best benches in league (and now sac has a terrible bench again)... don't think anyone foresaw this. it was just a matter of getting rid of gaye and getting some salaried bodies back.

anyway, i would stay with trend but definitely the low hanging fruit is gone :)

Thank you for the informative reply. I really appreciate your insight. Thanks to you I have made a few $ on Detroit and will continue to stay with them until they lose consecutive games for me. Then I will be a little more selective in their games. Good Luck to you.

i think i'd no play the detroit-toront game tonight... opened +7.5 but now i see that it's +5.5 many places.

i see toronto having hit a wall recently. and their defense has been poor. i think detroit has been jacking up 3's fairly successfully lately so that bodes poorly for toronto.

casey though has shaken up toronto's lineup. landry fields is probably almost done with the raptors. james johnson got alot of his minutes

as an aside, fields only started getting minutes quite recently anyway. worked for a very short time and then it has been a complete disaster. one of the worst +/- per minutes i've ever seen.... so i assume johnson getting fields minutes is permanent (maybe a moderate trade at some point too)

can someone who follows the pistons closely confirm whether they are putting up alot of 3's in most games? i saw them at 43 3 point attempts the other day. not sure if it was OT (vs. atlanta.... i think it was) but that's a huge number for any game.

another comfortable ATS win. i of course had it as NO PLAY.

bit of a funny one.... valentunis sp? was 14-15 for field goals and still had a very poor +/- .....

toronto gave up too many offensive rebounds and turnovers. detroit got to the FT line alot more than the raptors and made those shots

detroit with a pretty decisive loss tonight to NO. haven't looked at the stats line on this one other than to see anthony davis has 25 points near end of game. i think AD is pretty heir apparent to being top 3 player in league.

anyway, funny detroit/toronto thing from detroit's road win the other night........... JV (valentunis sp?) was 14-15 FG but was minus -14 or -15. i understand drummond didn't cover him that much and detroit had alot of offensive rebounds but still it made me wonder about drummond and that JV (FG% vs. +/-) math.
