Before the shallow thinking haters respond, I'm not a racist.

But since when did being a racist become a crime?

I come down on the side of free thought and free expression.

Riley Cooper getting into a confrontation at a Kenny Chesney concert was a bigger issue than him saying the "n" word. People say dumb things in the heat of the moment. It was only an issue because it was caught on tape and released to the public. White players say it all the time in front of black players and no offense is taken. The video was released without context so the media labels him a racist. No one challenges the assertion so it became fact.

Desean Jackson has other issues than gang ties. It's being used as justification for his release and i'm sure it played a major role in the decision. The team has been aware of this for quite some time now. Factor it in with the in-house problems and his production wasn't worth everything that came with it.

chip kelly is trying to put together a championship team. he wants the most professional players he can get along with talent. he does not want me first players who are selfish and act like high school punks. besides the gang issue, this player complains all the time and gets stupid penalties for over celebrating and taunting opponents. he is immature to say the least. someone is finally standing up to talented head cases and saying we don't need you. real football philosophy.

Eagles should probably never draft another player from a ghetto. Good chance they have friends or friends of a friend who are criminals. Unless Desean is a suspect or associated with criminal behavior in some way its a clown move to bring up who he hangs out with off the field. Just say you cut him because he is too expensive and not a good teammate.

How do you know this isn't the case?

I think the Eagles know more about this situation than we do.

Fact of week: DeSean Jackson will count more against the Eagles' salary-cap this season ($6.25M) than he will the Redskins' ($4.25M).

True. But the problems that may arise with Jackson are a gamble.

I think Chip is trying to form a team around chemistry, which IMO is what it takes to win a championship.

Numerous sources tell CBS Philly that DeSean Jackson was "blatantly insubordinate" and "not very well liked by his teammates" with the Eagles, leading to his release before signing with Washington.

CBS Philly reports Jackson threw "temper tantrums cussing out (Chip) Kelly several times in front of the team," and was "more concerned with his rap label" than winning football games. The dislike among teammates would seem to be confirmed by their dispassionate reactions to his departure. "I’ll put it this way, when it came out last Friday that [Jackson] was released," said one source, "more than a few guys were happy it happened. They said ‘good riddance.’"

My suspicions are confirmed. Djax released for being a selfish little prick and not alleged ties to gang activity.

I never liked him as a person....those touchdowns he celebrated too early are telling of who he is

but I can't deny his talent
