After just listening to an interview the Eagles 100% got rid of him for his gang affiliations. 2 of his closest friends that he hung with in Philly are being investigated for murder. After the Aaron Hernandez issues last year no wonder why they let him go. The amazing thing is his agent has already received offers from 6 teams according to ESPN. Will always be the National Felon League.

so basically if you are about to cut someone and they are within the 4 years, you are much more likely to get a trade because teams in need don't want to let the guy clear waivers.

There was a little buzz last week that he may end up in NewEng. As a pats fan I hope this does not happen but in recent years NE has gone after alot of NFL bad boys. I'm waiting to hear an Eagles player to come out and say "Good riddance" , it's gotta happen right?

I'm not vouching for Desean and in 2 days he could prove me wrong but being in a gang does not make him a murderer. Hell, maybe the gang is only being cool to him for some money.

Murderer > Racist > hanging out with a guy who is in the same gang and may have killed someone > hanging out with a racist

Aaron Hernandez > Riley Cooper > Desean Jackson > every other pro athlete

Nobody is saying being in a gang makes you a murderer.
What they're saying is when you hang around shady people, people who don't care about you or your team's future, people who have no future, you open yourself up to be implicated into a situation that is less than desirable for the franchise and fan base. After Hernandez, the Eagles didn't want to take that chance.
I'm sure they know a lot more than us about DeSean Jackson. They aren't just going to cut a star playmaker without good reason.
Riley Cooper running his racist mouth is one thing. I would have cut him on the spot. Desean Jackson being affiliated with killers and drug dealers (aka gang members) is much different. If Jackson is tied to some of these crimes, some of the same guys defending him are going to bitching that the Eagles knew about him, and should have acted.
It's a no win situation for the Eagles. Best thing to do is let him go.
