It is pretty well known that Mo Vaughn mostly hungout with gang members when he was with the Sox. The team didn't like it but you can't really tell a grown man who they can/can't hangout with. The fact he had a few MVP caliber years didn't hurt either obviously....

It might not sound like much....but I know for a fact he has run up bills at restuarants....not paid, never tips....rude to service people and bartenders....also his entourage started many of fights a 2 difft clubs he would frequent.

The nj article is a smear campaign. I doubt his gang affiliations played a major role in the decision and knowing people in a gang doesn't necessarily make you a gangster.
