birdman - long time no post...
How about them pats this weekend.
I don't think the skins can bounce back like I've heard some people cautioning about. This pats D is too aggressive from top to bottom.
I have no opinion on the Denver game - just that I heard some ESPN analyst saying that Denver may have a tough time in this game (but to be honest I didn't hear why) and I also read that Beuerlein (who didn't play last week either) got twisted up and went off the field limping pretty bad in practice I think today (possibly yesterday though check out some of the press on
www.denverbroncos.com). I guess again birdman's advice looks good (but who knows its preseason!)
I'm looking for reasons not to take the pats - but I'm in the same boat - a home team guy who has to be talked out of it every week no matter what... Also I see that a lot of sites dont have the injurys updated - I think Law will start with the first team this time (with Asante Samuel starting at the other side - leaving the exciting Eugene wilson to the second team).
Faulk and Antoine have been continuing to split time which I think is great a 2 levels - its excellent to see that Faulk has been getting so much good work in this early and its good to see that Antoine isnt gonna be let to go at his own pace... if he cant get his ass in gear the faulk is gonna take his spot while he can.
Also I thought this was cool... seems like the team is doing stuff like this more than they have in years past:
"Following team stretching the entire group went to the far end of the field where the rookies were placed in a circle on the ground in the center of the team to perform a drill that is commonplace in the lower levels of football known as Monkey Rolls. To add a bit of a unique twist to the task, veterans dumped large containers of water on the young players during the movement, leaving the first-year guys wet and muddy for the remainder of the practice."
