i am a die-hard broncos fan who almost never bets my team (although i did last week and was biting my nails off at the end praying my boys kept the texans out of the end zone late in the game).

but this week once again, i am trying to find a reason NOT to take denver @ da bears in a "pick 'em" game. i see denver winning this game - maybe not so easy - but winning nonetheless - and getting the $$$$$$.

so, anyone in the peanut gallery got a strong opinion on this one?

Take the home team. Both teams played well game one and I expect the road team to rest its starters more. Both HCs are trying to instill a winning feeling this season as playoffs are a must.

birdman - long time no post...

How about them pats this weekend.

I don't think the skins can bounce back like I've heard some people cautioning about. This pats D is too aggressive from top to bottom.

I have no opinion on the Denver game - just that I heard some ESPN analyst saying that Denver may have a tough time in this game (but to be honest I didn't hear why) and I also read that Beuerlein (who didn't play last week either) got twisted up and went off the field limping pretty bad in practice I think today (possibly yesterday though check out some of the press on www.denverbroncos.com). I guess again birdman's advice looks good (but who knows its preseason!)

I'm looking for reasons not to take the pats - but I'm in the same boat - a home team guy who has to be talked out of it every week no matter what... Also I see that a lot of sites dont have the injurys updated - I think Law will start with the first team this time (with Asante Samuel starting at the other side - leaving the exciting Eugene wilson to the second team).

Faulk and Antoine have been continuing to split time which I think is great a 2 levels - its excellent to see that Faulk has been getting so much good work in this early and its good to see that Antoine isnt gonna be let to go at his own pace... if he cant get his ass in gear the faulk is gonna take his spot while he can.

Also I thought this was cool... seems like the team is doing stuff like this more than they have in years past:

"Following team stretching the entire group went to the far end of the field where the rookies were placed in a circle on the ground in the center of the team to perform a drill that is commonplace in the lower levels of football known as Monkey Rolls. To add a bit of a unique twist to the task, veterans dumped large containers of water on the young players during the movement, leaving the first-year guys wet and muddy for the remainder of the practice."

Also I forgot to mention - I've said it before this year but I think its worth saying again... There are 3 serial killers on this team: Colvin, Harrison, and now I'm annointing in Klecko with the honor. These guys are nuts and I have no doubt that the skins will be watching their heads in this one when these guys are on the field.

Also Apparently Bethel Johnson has figured out somewhat how to hold on to the ball. If this guy can catch the thing I think that its really gonna be a huge boost to Brady's options.

I agree I think the bears will at least keep this one tight... but I'd be interested in any more info anyone has on how they've been doing in camp.

i did NOT take denver - for a good reason.

when i got to vegas i left my ATM card at home. i had only $7 in my wallet, too. i scrambled around looking for my bank. i never found one but ran across the one my parents bank at - and i am on the account, too.

i pulled out only enough to get by for the weekend - and not that much to gamble. i did have about $50 for blackkack - but that was about it.
