Being a Green fan I've been tracking his potential return to the NFL. Here are my picks:

1. Atlanta Falcons. Arthur Blank has the will and cash, Michael Vick and indoor stadium seem like good fit.

2. Oakland Raiders. Al Davis likes Dennis Green and is playing close to the vest with Callahan.

Any thoughts or news?

Oorang,

When a guy wants to return to the coaching ranks he usually gets a job with ESPN for a year or two and then gets another chance, like Schottenheimer, Parcells, etc, and right now he is doing Monday Morning Quarterback with Mark Malone and Eric Allen. I believe he will be coaching again in 2004 but who knows where he will end up. If he does start coaching again I will miss him on draft day as he was great showing insight to the draft process.

Dennis Green is another re-tread like Marty Schottenheimer. Don't you remember how he choked so bad against Atlanta in the NFC Championship game? What has he done that impresses you so much? I think he is a horrible coach.

Whenever I hear the name "Dennis Green" I always think of the picture outside the Vikings Corporate Headquarters that had a sign saying "Fire Denny Green".

Dennis Green made the Vikings into a playoff contender but could never finish the job. Who would want a coach like that? Red McCombs hung onto him for so long that the players lost confidence in him.

Maybe he deserves a second chance to turn around a 2nd-tier organization.

I don't remember Dennis Green choking in the Conference. I remember half of our defense injured, standing on the sidelines and Gary Anderson missing his first field goal of the season. A field goal which probably would have sent them to the Bowl.

You ask a coach to get his team in a position to win. Dennis Green did a great job of giving his teams the opportunity to make the playoffs and try to get to the Super Bowl. He did this a lot more consistently than most coaches.

Good luck.

green was a PATHETIC coach!!! in the conf champ game his play calling was HORRIBLE, he had the best off in the nfl and took a knee with a minute left in regulation, the game should have never come down to a fg!!! they should have been blown out like the way were in the super bowl by a WELL-COACHED team.
