Even without knowing the details this is a good thing and it will be interesting to see how everything shakes out.

Here is something to think about. What effect will this have on horse racing handle in Delaware? Quite a few despondent Kentucky based thoroughbred trainers are headed to Delaware after Ky's state political cluster f*ck resulted in no slots in Kentucky.

I'm wondering if sports action, if availabe at -110, will further erode the handle on the ponies. For that matter, at the racinos I really believe that as racing types get replaced by bottom line watching corporate types, it will be only a matter of time slots fueled purses begin to nosedive also.

My guess is that if legal sportsbetting takes hold, this will be another nail in the coffin of thoroughbred racing. The rediculous hold at the track was meant for a day when ponies were the only game in town.

That day is long gone and soon so will be the ponies. But that is a deserved fate for a game ruled by archaic thinking elites who failed to notice the storm clouds forming so long ago.

All things must change. Welcome point spreads: so long Seabiscuit. But it's all good !!!
