Washington — The Iraqi regime verged on collapse yesterday as U.S. soldiers occupied the bomb-blasted ruins of Saddam Hussein's sprawling presidential palace in central Baghdad and targeted the dictator from the air, dropping four bunker-buster bombs on a residential housing complex where he was indicated to be with his two sons.
