I got a 50-inch Panasonic Plasma off of slick deals delivered to my house for $1500 last year.

Do some research and you can find a good deal. I did tons of research before buying mine.

42" Panny delivered for under $600 on the front page right now.

Check the post right above yours. Spent $100 more for the Panasonic and 2 more inches, and MUCH better tv

I would bet the picture on the Panasonic even at 720 would be better than the Proscan.

If you want to stick with 1080p, then I would spend the extra $100 and get this one...

Free shipping, I don't believe any tax either

But opinions are like assholes. I would stay away from ProScan. People reviewing them are cheap and want to like their cheap tv, mix that in with best buy and I wouldn't put too much weight in them.

Get the Samsung and be done with it. I have a 60" LG plasma and a 52" Samsung LCD. Samsung wins hands down. I've also owned Sony. GET THE SAMSUNG.

HippieKi11er I went and got the information on the tv that I am very close to buying. If you could tell me anything about it I would really appreciate it.

The TV is:
Samsung 55"
Class 1080 P 240 HZ
LED TV
5,000,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio
Auto motion Plus 240 Hz Refresh Rate
DLNA Networking Capable with internet @ tv
4 HDMI Inputs
Energy Star qualified
UN55B8000XFXZA

The price is $4,000 and the picture is the best I have ever seen.

It is a little expensive but if I keep it for a few years its worth it. Im hoping Hippie gets back to me soon. The stand I want for it is going to take 4 weeks to be delivered so I want to start this process ASAP.

I have the exact same thing except my Samsung is a 60" LCD 1080 DLP. I love the Samsung and it was under 2K. And agree to me is better than the plasma

Honestly, if you're willing to pay $4K, I'd wait for one of the flagship true LED sets in either Samsung's B9000 or Sony's LED (most likely XBR11) which will both be out around football season by all estimates. Those will run more than $4K, but the $4K you would've put towards this set will work much harder for you with one of these other sets.

The B8000 is damn sexy, I'll give you that, but it lacks substance and suffers from some major picture quality issues (oversaturated colors, poor viewing angles, and lack of screen uniformity to name a few). Whatsmore, you'd be buying into first generation technology with edge-lit, which once again, is NOT true LED.

Best advice again is.. either go all the way with true LED or save yourself a few K and buy the best bang-for-buck standard CCFL backlit set in either the Samsung B750 or Sony XBR9. You can also look for close-outs on last year's flagship LED sets.. the Samsung A950 or Sony XBR8, both come in 55".
