Hello dubpoet...
Thank you very much for your curiousity as to why I don't start threads stating what I am playing and instead make it a habit of just responding in threads already started and list what I am playing in that thread.
The reason is that I pesonally do not feel a need to draw attention to myself...I've never been one to pound on my chest and proclaim myself to be the best and as you've already noticed I certainly don't start threads that contain huge letters telling people to bet 20 g's on a game and then give no intelligent reasons why I like that particular side in a game.
Instead I like to simply use the "Give and Take" approach, meaning that I much prefer to respond in threads already started by others that show they actually attempted to handicap the contest in question and back up their play selections with somewhat intelligent reasoning.
When I do respond to threads already started its usually because I think I can add something which hopefully will help others in their quest to cash tickets.

Very nicely and articulately stated. As one who posts selections, have often wondered both why we choose to post as well as why some choose not to post. Have always tried to consider the reader when posting a thread. You're response provides additional reasoning for me to consider in the future. Thank you very much for your kind words, if I may pay you a compliment...I have made it a point to read your threads and thought the written analysis that you posted on the National Championship game was very very very well done.
The writeup you posted on the National Championship game really showed me alot about you, the way you broke down the game, the logical approach that you used to make your assessments, and then at the end...a recommendation to pass on the game.
You are undoubtably the first individual that I can remember ever seeing on any forum that would take the time to complete such a detailed analysis and then not choose a side...what does this say about you?
To me it shows what type of individual you are, it shows firstly that you know and love the game of football but are able to stand back and look at things in an objective manner which of course is what a GOOD handicapper has to be able to do if he/she wants to be successful.
Secondly it shows you to be intelligent enough to organize the results of your handicapping and put your thoughts into words in a very readable format, and thirdly it shows that you actually care and want to help others...thus the reason that you would take up such a time consuming task as completing a written analysis for all to see.
I can not remember if I left a message in your thread or not complimenting you on how well written your analysis was as I was very busy at the time, if I did not leave a simple thank you for the hard work that you so obviously put into that piece, I'll say it now.....THANK YOU!!
