You would think this would happen the first "weekend" after the "lock down" when mostly all essential businesses are normally closed more people in their homes....curious to see come Monday when everyone goes back to work etc. if the numbers spikes up

More businesses are closing in the Northeast on Monday, we're not reopening anything

Maybe the west coast is ahead of us

I don't know where you get your numbers from but the WHO shows the US infection rate rising exponentially

this thread is about death rate not infection rate
of cause infection rate is going up because testing rate is going up .

honestly the only real time number we have to go by is death rate

If the current exponential growth of diagnosed COVID cases persists thru Apr 3-5, the U.S. will have 2m+ citizens w known infection

If even 25% require hospitalization that would equal & slightly surpass the number of Americans (approx 490k) hospitalized for influenza during the 2018-19 season (with approx 35k deaths)*

IOW, if COVID fatality rate is *no more* than the rate for influenza we could have approx 35,000 Americans dead from COVID by mid April

*CDC stats for influenza season 2018-19
