you could argue Mclouth and Douhmit have been their 2 best hitters this yr.

They have great young prospects with power. Two of the new guys they brought up from AAA hit homeruns on Sunday.

with those 2, Nady, Bay, throw in Jack Wilson who has had some yrs batting over .300 and last yrs batting champ Freddy Sanchez and the Pirates actually had a very solid lineup. "IF" Snell could have pitched as he did last yr, Duke could somehow have regained his form of his rookie yr to go along with Maholm's solid yr, and a healthy Matt Capps closing games the Pirates should have been a .500 ball club this yr.

needless to say i was very high on this Pirates squad before the season started. I have a pretty large bet on their total wins over 70.5. it was looking great the entire first half, but being decimited by trades it's going to take an amazing effort to still cash that one
