First off, I think daylight savings (as well as time zones) are idiotic. My question is, if you are going to do daylight savings time - why do they not start at 12:01 am on SATURDAY compared to 12:01 am Sunday? Most people work Monday - Friday, so why not have an extra day to get adjusted before the start of the work week.

in CA they stop selling booze at 2am. So the 2am change gets no complaints from us here

I think DST is good. Take a person working a 9-5 job. It would be nice to artificially adjust the time during the summer months when the days are longer.

If you kept it the same, I can't see an employer altering your schedule to 8-4 for half the year.

It doesn't matter if you are a farmer/ fisherman type, but I think many go to work at a set time ( close to sunrise) and prefer the extra daylight after work.

With you on DST, but time zones are an absolute necessity.

Nothing would be better then waking up and making a pot of coffee at 1AM and watching the sun come up at 2AM.
