and I checked several local sources, Tice will make a decision Sunday morning. Culpepper looked good in practice Friday but they don't know if he'll wake up sore today from going hard.
The injury itself normally takes 2-6 weeks but there have been cases where players come back early.
My personal opinion is he ought to rest the guy for a week, maybe two, then they have a bye. He could take a full 4 weeks to recover and come back strong. But Culpepper is known as a guy who wants to play through pain so I don't know what Tice's decision will be. We'll all know tomorrow.
I'm gonna guess that he plays it safe and starts Frerotte, but that is an educated guess, not a fact.
After watching Frerotte do well last week, I would say the only thing they lose with Culpepper out is his ability to run; Frerotte is actually as good an arm and with SF bringing a blitzing D, he is better at reading it and picking it up than Culpepper, from what I've read.
With a pickem line and home field, I think the Vikings would be the play here regardless of who is qb. I actually think a more important injury angle is Moss, who played last week with back spasms and the flu. He sat out practice this week to try to heal his back, he will go Sunday but his effectiveness remains a question mark.
