[h=1]Data suggest Florida's record-breaking coronavirus days may have been inflated by as much as 30%[/h]

Florida health officials appear to have inflated recent record coronavirus case numbers there by as much as 30%, according to an analysis of data released by the state's Department of Health

Deaths in the state have remained largely flat over that time period, leaving experts struggling to explain why surging case rates have not resulted in an uptick in mortality. One possibility, according to data provided by the state itself, is that the new case numbers regularly posted by Florida health officials have been significantly inflated in recent weeks

It would be really interesting to see a Venn diagram of journos and other leftists who are thrilled about increases in cases/hospitalizations/deaths in FL/AZ/TX “

Meanwhile more people are wearing masks in Florida than the Boston area where I live. I witnessed it with my own eyes this past week being in both states. Media lying about Florida.”

Florida, as always, gets bum rap from media and folks up north, most of which have never stepped foot in the state other than to see the mouse once every few years. Some sort of weird envy or something. Very strange.

DeSantis did not mandate masks at state level, but many counties are, and there seems to be an overall compliance in public spaces. Which is good. I would wear a mask on my ass if I could get my February life back. Masks not that big of a deal to me.

Cases may or may not be inflated, but when accounting for the "two week delay" between cases and deaths, you would assume that deaths would be much higher. But they aren't. Treatment is getting better, and the infiltration of cases is hitting people that are not compromised, so the outcomes are better.

Case stats are not important really, it is what happens after the case that is. But the beat goes on. Case numbers will fall in the next few weeks with masks and closing of bars. 15K of cases in Florida today, but 10% positivity. The goal is 5%, so hopefully that trend will hold so the media can hump somebody else for a change. And then, the states that are bragging now about how great they are will hit their "second wave" once they continue their opening.
