Living here for 30+ years and dealing in law definitely makes him more of an authority than alot of ticos...Read his articles on am costa rica they deal with immigration, taxes, offshore corporations he's written dozens of articles on his own time.
I am sure you are right about that, I wasn't disputing that.
My point was that to understand the culture and the mechanics behind it......its not just a matter of knowing the law/mechanism/tricks/etc
It takes a lot of knowing what happened here /why to understand why Ticos have certain attitudes against monopolies/foreigners/etc , not saying he does /doesn't have that knowledge
I was just saying that I find it hard to believe that a foreigner can truly know the things I am talking about
