Barber never stood a prayer of collecting on his $4.25 million salary, and the Cowboys had to make a quick decision on his $500,000 roster bonus. MBIII entered last season as the starter, but showed no evidence of a burst even before a mid-season calf injury. After averaging 4.5 yards per carry as one of the most physical backs in the league from 2005-07, Barber's production has tailed off to 3.88 over the past three years.
