Let me put it in a way you guys will understand

Beating the Yankees 4 games to 3 after being down 3-0 was better than spending a night making passionate love with this young lady:

Totally disagree ! They haven't accomplished anything important if they again choke in the series that matters... The World Series !
Besides being the only team in baseball history to overcome a 3 game deficit.

Ottosen history: Ottosen, Iowa was founded in 1896 by Chris Ottosen, a grain dealer in Russel Switch, Iowa. Chris Ottosen petitioned the postmaster general to have a post office in Russel Switch but it was rejected because of a similar name in use.. Senator Doliver became aware of this and resubmitted it under the name of Ottosen and it was granted. Chris Ottosen then then tried to get the railroad to build a depot and passing tracks there but they did not want to build it on the curve in the tracks. The RR surveyed an area 1/2 mile north of Russel Switch for the tracks and depot. They also platted it out. Chris Ottosen brought this to the attention of William Wehrspann a local farmer who bought 40 acres from Mr. Sorlien and deeded enough land for the right-of-way and side tracks. He then sold the rest of the land to Horrace Gage of Mason City, Iowa. Mr. Gage then platted out part of it and sold small tracts. In 1896 the first buildings were built. Among them were the Quimby Hotel and a double brick building, built by Chris Ottosen. The town of Ottosen was now established and Russel Switch was abandoned. Chris Ottosen died November 25, 1941 and is burried at the Union Cemetary. Ottosen later boasted of many businesses and was called the fastest growing town in Humboldt County and surrounding area. Two devestating fires and changing times reduced Ottosen to a small bedroom community. Ottosen once had three churches but only the Lutheran church remains. It will be celebrating it centennial this year, 2000. (This history was taken from the Ottosen Centennial Book - 1996)

That,s a very good accomplishment but those type of records are really just that... meaningless records. World Championships are what means something .. It means that you are the best in the world. Lot,s of teams win 4 straight all the time ... big deal !

LOL- I have always loved the Sox, I don't care for the fans particularly, but they've had some of the more entertaining teams over the years...

...I love the tradition of the American League East teams...fvck Tampa Bay...Bring back Detroit and the old Tiger Satdium for that matter... Even bring back those old Brewers with the old bright blue and yellow uniforms with that cool hats.

Kermit they may lose, but show me a better season from them?

I said this was their best season...

Kermit sounds like a closet Yankee fan to me. No way I will let Yankee fans off the hook no matter what happens against what looks to be the St. Louis Cardinals (5-2 lead). Anyway - only history will tell what will be remembered more "The comeback" or the results of the 2004 world series. For me no matter what happens in the series no one or NOTHING can erase the sheer joy of sending the Bronx Bombers packing after they led the series 3-0. Nothing, nada, no way, impossible to do - there simply has never been anything even close in baseball history to this comeback by any team during any given postseason in the long and illustrious history of baseball. There is no way to top it, a team cannot come back from 4 down can they?

Wil,
I'm a Yankee hater from way back ! I only loved the Yankees when the Mick played for them ! No, I enjoyed every second of every Red Sox come from behind victory ! I simply want to cap it off with a world series victory for a change ! No second place again !!!!

OK kermit fair enough. Lets win the World Series now, if Pedro can pitch well the Sox should prevail.

Thanks Wil,
This will be a tough series against the Cards but let's put this curse nonsense to rest in everyone's eyes by winning the whole thing in 2004
