They should be the favorite, but there are three reasons to be cautious IMO

1) Harden having his annual playoff choke meltdown
2) Kyrie having a mental breakdown
3) The defense not holding up in a match up with a team like the Lakers

They can probably overcome any one of those things and still win because of their talent, but I'd still be cautious. I think the Lakers are the only team in the West than can beat them, and not sure any East team has much of a shot. Bucks are a good match up for them. Maybe Philly?

As long as Harden is healthy he'll be an asset but the other three points could be issues.

I think Harden is the biggest risk although you have to get Irving through these next two games in Boston with whatever mental capacity he has left plus you have to hope there is not a relapse in the middle east so he doesn't lose focus.

The Bucks will take them out!

I only base that on the Math. Look at the Odds !

The Bucks are lower than the 76ers...............I know it's a slight difference but it has me thinkin'........

Seem like the best team right now, much deeper than the big 3, KD is KD, and Harden playing to point keeps Irving from trying to take over. I'm impressed with Harden's play at PG the most

The 76er's don't have Brown holding them back, Doc a much better coach.

This was good

Honestly though the Nets can probably win the East with just 2 of their big 3.

Jeff Green plantar fascia injury could be an underrated loss. He has been solid for them all year.

Their main issue is gonna be can they get stops. Durant is pretty good defensively, harden is better when he isn’t having to carry the entire offensive load but overall they’re limited. Just tough to roll through the league when the other teams can consistently generate quality shots on you.

Then intangibles like chemistry/durability/cohesiveness could rear their ugly heads w this crew.

They’re definitely more fragile than the average odds fav imo

I think there’s a good chance the Lakers will dramatically improve as the playoffs go on. You can tell just over three games they’re starting to gel a little bit more with LeBron/AD starting to get more in a rhythm — but they still have a ways to go, and their shooting has just been awful.

Beating LeBron won’t be easy. And that Lakers defense is ferocious. I think Lakers/Nets would be a classic, assuming health
