My style is to play the pass line (then take max odds) and 2 come bets (with max odds) so i always have 3 numbers with max odds.

If you can find a table that has 3x4x5x odds then even better!!

Been playing this way for 15 years and i win more than i lose.

I like to play the table minimums and play the max odds (minimums anywhere from $5-15). I usually start off with $300 but have dipped in my pocket many times (sometimes very early) and would throw another $100 or $200 out there due to a small start. I like to keep a bankroll of 1k just to play it safe (and hopefully never dip into).

I dont look to break the bank. Just looking to play, have fun, and come out with a little $$. However i have walked away from many vacations being up a few hundred dollars

I was taught the same exact way but I was doing one thing wrong when I met a professional gambler playing next to me. He taught me to press my come bets once you are up and playing with house money. Max press is two times each number when it hits.

No such thing as "house" money.

there are people "who can tell if a table is hot and will stay hot" posting here?
we need to sign these people to a contract, give them a bankroll for a piece
of the action, and send them out on a search and destroy mission to any
casino dumb enough to fade this "sharp" action. this is my lucky day.

LOSER...repeat LOSER. Give this LOSER a free room if he is not so dorky the house
feels sorry for him.

Hey Dorky, walk into a casino where four crap tables are going and three are loaded
with players and one table is sitting there with two players. I suggest you take your mini
fortune and play the pass line, place all the numbers and maybe a hard number or two
on that virgin table.

Short time you will be watching the tables with everyone around. Just like another loser!

Really? And how would you know that? Do you have a crystal ball that predicts future outcomes? I guess tables never turn on a dime.

OK let me rephrase that... when you are up and playing with more than you bought in at

Why change your style of play at all?

Essentially, what Thaler finds is that gamblers may be more apt to make risky decisions when they are ahead. If, by chance, we are ahead, we feel we may have been lucky and, in essence, gambling for free or with the house’s money. Accordingly, bets with a higher house edge, those which have a higher payout and are ultimately more risky, may become more attractive.

What’s the most efficacious thing to do? That would be to stay the course. Bet the style in which you are comfortable. Make good bets while limiting your overall risk. There’s no reason to be less risk averse. You’re not gambling with the house’s money. A transaction has occurred and it is now your money. If we want to be better gamblers, increasing our overall take in the long run, it’s important to be aware of the psychology surrounding our habits and quirks.

A fun article that talks about that type of thinking....

You have never played CRAPS a day in your life...have you crapsforlive? My suggestion would be to go to a vegas
and show the house a thing or two. Kick their ass partner!

OK, that was a rational response. Apparently you can't answer the question so you have to resort to an Ad Hominem. Sounds like no crystal ball to me.

Everyone has their own style of gambling, and Craps is no different.

I too learned a lot of things by a professional gambler who only played Craps and played just like Bodyforlife.
To him it was always about the house edge and the odds.

Not sure why people are jumping on bodyforlife, because to me he pretty much knows alot about craps, the odds and edge of each bet.

Nobody is telling you to play the way he plays.
So let's chill guys.

Thanks

I know a few guys. Including the guy I posted about, and some here have met him.
unfortunately he passed a few years ago.

not 100% sure how to define professional Craps players.
Just that most are number guys ( Math guys ) and it's the only game they will play in a Casino.

Do they always win ? NO
but they too are looking to bring down the house edge as much as possible.

It's like a Sportsbook, they make money on the Vig.
They don't care which team wins or loses ( and of course they are looking for even action on those games )
it just doesn't always work out that way.

For all suggestions, establish the point and lay odds on your pass line bet.

1. Buy the 4 and 10 for $20 each. Every time either one hits you get 2:1 on your money (minus $1). Hit one and you're free rolling.

2. Place a min bet on the 5, 6, and 8 (forget the 6 or 8 if the point is 6 or 8). Every time three non-field bets get rolled in a row, place a field bet.

Above all else - have fun and tip your dealers. Good luck.

I played this system in Vegas this past weekend with a few wrinkles...I only placed 6-8 if a point was made so I just started outside.

Keeping track of the field is good way to stay engaged in the game.

I basically followed this system in VEGAS last weekend.

On Friday night I played a Caesars for 3 hours at 2;30 AM I caught a heater, left the table half hour later up $2300 for the night

Early in the day I had won $200

ON SATURDAY I was up $50 for the day - only about an hour in two different sessions

ON SUNDAY I lost $250 ....probably just timing, I cashed out after my last throw took out the dealers chips and I 7'd out, needless to say my balance was a bit off as i was aiming for the come run way on the far end with the dice. LOL

Very interesting angle with a nice little twist (not sure if my previous 2 quotes is showing up and my apologies if not).

I also like to "sit out some rolls" when at the table. Sometimes its a good move, sometimes not but i feel like i can "play" longer that way

There is no way to beat craps long-term unless you are using dice control.

So unless they do that, the term "professional craps player" is an oxymoron. They are all long-term losing players once the sample size gets big enough.

Having looked at 1000s of players lifetime win loss ratings, few and far between are winners when it comes to craps. People have good sessions but give it back eventually. Odds and time played gets almost everyone
