Gastro bypass surgery is very risky even if you are a young person. I bet the odds go up substantially if you are 58 years old.. Sounds to me like she didnt take the advice of doctors and get medical clearance.. Not to bright IMO.

Not only was she warned but the first doc stated he wont do the operation until she gets a medical clearance. The question is did she ever get a clearance?

I recently read that she taught in the English department at Chicago State univ. for 30 years and retired in 2004. Also, at one time she was the head of the English dept. With that on her resume, she was obviously an intelligent woman.
