Well, that sucked...I really underestimated how much Vinnie hates to be hit....Bader landed like 5 punches.

I lean to Wandy but will not make it a bet, too many question marks surrounding both fighters. Just one bet for this card:

ANTONIO RODRIGO NOGUEIRA 7.3u to win 2u
Big Nog has a more complete game than Mir & while Mir appears to be as good as he's been since the accident I don't see any place that he has a distinct advantage. Should be a stalemate on the ground and Big Nog has a better stand up and certainly better heart than Mir who has seemed to just quit in his last couple of losses.

Well Mir's stand up was WAY better than it's ever been, very impressive win for him.

End of 2008

Well, it's been a pretty good year overall betting MMA but my record on here definitely took a knock losing 7.3u on Big Nog. I'm better with the UFC than DREAM or K-1 but I've been watching more this year and going to expand into more DREAM events next year. I have some picks for the Dynamite show, hoping to cap off the year the right way:

K-1/DREAM Dynamite:

Badr Hari - 6.4u to win 3u
Hari is a K-1 kickboxer & Overeem is an MMA guy, that's all you need to know. Hari is a beast that should blow through Overeem then will have his lunch handed to him at the rumored MMA rematch early next year.

Joachim Hansen - 1u to win 1u
In the last couple of fights JZ hasn't looked that great and Hansen is on huge roll. This is a tough fight for JZ coming off a long layoff due to injury & give him credit for not easing his way back in. This will be a great fight between two well rounded guys but I think Hellboy gets the decision in this one.

Eddie Alvarez - 1.4u to win 1u
At 18-3 it's hard to believe that Aoki is only 25 but he remains one dimensional although it's an amazing dimension. I see this one going similarly to the Aoki-Hansen fight with Alvarez using wrestling to keep it standing and defending takedowns/submissions until he eventually knocks out Aoki.

Kazushi Sakuraba - 1.4u to win 1u
This is the old timers fight but the Japanese fans love to see the big Japanese names no matter their age or even ability. Both guys are about the same age although Saku looks much older and has probably taken more beatings than Tamura. One thing that is obvious is that Saku has been busier the last two years with 6 fights vs. Tamura's 3 fights. I think Saku will ride out a decision in this one and possibly sneek in a submission late with a little better gas tank.

Good Luck to all :toast:

On a side note:
Unfortunately there is no live feed, TV or internet, covering this one so only online updates or wait until Jan 6th or later to see the PPV. It seems like with FEG's financial issues they would've found a way to get some $$ for this massive card both on TV AND on the internet even if it's not as much as they would like. :think2: Hopefully this doesn't signal the beginning of the end for FEG spending tons of money on big names and not getting enough money back; this looks similar to what happened to DSE and EliteXc.:nono5:

Not too sure where you're getting your info but K-1 is airing on TBS from 7-11:24pm, in S. Korea on XTM at 7pm, and in full on SkyPerfect PPV at 12am (midnight).

Wtf?

Maybe I won't work on more DREAM/K-1 next year because crazy shit seems to happen over there. What makes it worse is that some of the guys I wanted to bet on, I couldn't get lines for at either book I use and of course they won (Minowa & Mach Sakurai).:ohno:

Year end posted record here:
10-8 -4.35 units
