for not winning a game all days yesterday...I mean that is hard to do, almost as hard as running the table...

Do you know football at all, your plays are miserable...

Take yesterday, with your big bad writeup and all and then going out and laying a big fat turd in the toilet...not even close dork.

Let's look folks.

Purdue +16 over PENN ST.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

This one sets up rather nicely for the Boilermakers, as they’ll face a Nittany Lion team that steamrolled the Illini last week and have a huge game on deck against the Badgers next week. One thing we do know is that this number is largely inflated due to the Lions 11th place ranking and the fact the Purdue has dropped five in a row and have allowed a slew of points in the process. However, it’s not like the Boilermakers are getting smoked and losing to bad teams. They actually could’ve won last week in Wisconsin but five turnovers did them in an 11-point loss. They’ve also lost to Notre Dame, Minnesota, Iowa and Northwestern, all pretty decent football teams indeed. In addition, the Boilermakers out-gained the Badgers last week and as bad as their defense has been, their offense has kept them in games and are capable of putting up big numbers on anyone. Penn St has lost just once all season, however, they have some wins against some serious cupcakes that include Cinci by 18, South Florida by 10, Central Michigan and Illinois. Sure, they’ve beaten a couple of good clubs in Minnesota and Ohio St, however, the Lions are in a vulnerable spot here playing a decent club that has virtually nothing left to lose. The Lions are going to have to build a 24-point lead make their backers comfortable and we just don’t see that happening. Play: # 107 Purdue +16 (Risking 1.65 units to win 1.5).

STANFORD +2.30 over UCLA (6:30 PM)

The Bruins are 7-0, rank No. 8 in the land and possess one of the best offensive teams in the land, however, we’re still not convinced that this team is deserving of this billing and we’re very confident that this invader is on the verge of a loss. This certainly can be the week that UCLA’s offense will not be able to compensate for this horrible defense. The Bruins defense continues to give up a huge yardage and eventually that is going to come bite and bite them hard. The Beavers racked up a whopping 511 yards and only three turnovers prevented them from keeping this game much closer than it was. The Bruins also allowed Washington St. 41 points, California 40, and both Rice and SDSU 21. Teams are moving at will on the Bruins and this Cardinal offense is in high gear at the moment and they, too, will rack up big yards against this weak defense. Stanford’s win last week over Arizona St. was more lopsided than the 45-35 score indicated. The Cardinal were up 45-7 at one point and most of the yards for the Sun Devils came when in the final 19 minutes when the Cardinal defense had the game all but wrapped up. Stanford has now won three in a row and has recorded 20 sacks thus far. The Bruins are in for a real battle in this contest, as the Cardinal have a chance to get on the map and really make this season a good one. Again, we’re not down with the Bruins and recognize that with this defense this visitor is very beatable indeed. The points are appealing but we’re going to gamble and play Stanford straight up. Play: #164 Stanford +2.30 (Risking 1.5 units).
