Yeah everyone kinda knew at the end of the season the Liquored up kicker was gone. Especially with his anit Manning/Dungy comments.

In the dome? He will never miss another kick...Patriots are finally losing players due to no cap room.

Adam V 2006 projected stats

PAt's 72-72
FG's 37-38

It's worth whatever they paid. He's gold.

Also you get to chop the legs out of the Pats in the process.

I think so. Vanderjerk proved he can kick outside as well.

Never forget he kicked that game winner in the snow in the Denver like two yrs ago.

Fantasy football-wise, Vanderjack's value will rise and Viniteri's will drop. Viniteri will kick fewer FGs but more XPs.

Sports suck sometimes. This guy hit the greatest kick I've ever seen...45 yarder in blizzard vs. Oakland and now he's on the stinkin' Colts. For the life of my I can't figure out why NE wouldn't overpay him $500 grand to keep him around. He's an icon for Christ sakes. DAMNIT!!!

Vinatieri is deteriorating IMHO. He may never kick another 50-yarder, not even in a dome. Best years behind him. Pats know what they're doing.

I agree with D2. Smart thing to do here is to find the next stud thats a bargain. It's what the pats have been doing for years.

how has it worked out for Lawyer Milloy, Damien Woody and Ty Law since they left to play for more money?

Hate to see McGinest and Vinatieri leave but cant keep paying huge bucks to the old guys.
Lock and load with new young talent and dont look back.
works for the Steelers.

The Pats are the smartest organization out there and the bottom line here is like you said the best years are behind him.

Vinateri career field goals.

Indoor 34 of 36, 94.4%
Outdoor 229 of 285, 80.4%

Never thought I'd see Vinatieri anywhere but NE.

I agree with Fair Warning, this won't hurt Vanderjagt's fantasy appeal (my keeper kicker) but his best days may be behind him. 9 yrs in the league plus 93-97 in CFL. Plus, he's a jerk; played for the Sask. Riders in 93 and Taylor Field still smells like his farts. Braggart. How many times does he need to mention he's the career FG percentage leader in his interviews? Good kicker though.
