Colorado @ L.A. Tonight

It seems these two MLS teams (Colorado Rapids and Los Angeles Galaxy) are very evenly matched, based on their two previous encounters this season. Each game concluded in a 1 - 1 tie. Although Colorado is currently the hottest team in the league, I'm of the opinion that the L.A. home field neutralizes any advantage the Rapids might have. Seems to me the game looks good for yet another tie (at least at the conclusion of regulation time).

Before I drop a bill or two on a tie outcome, can anybody make a case for picking a winner? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

In my opinion LA has about 50/50 chances winning this. They are the best team at home and overall and allowing for their win less than 50% is unreasonable. The line is about -120.

On the other hand, the probability that Colorado wins here is about 20%-25% because it is MLS, Colorado is good on the road and LA is yet to post two consecutive home wins.

That leaves us 25%-30% for a draw and makes the whole game a complete "no play" for me.

Thanks for your well considered reply, Data. I'm still a bit tempted to wager a tie result (note: the rules of the game I'm playing considers the result to be a tie at the end of regulation/extra time, NOT overtime). However, temptation notwithstanding, I may well lay off in anticipation of an L.A. victory.
