How could I ever live with myself if a college hoops game was being played in my home country and I was without action?
Yep, this one is being played in the True North, up in Laval Quebec, and as a man who spent some time in La Belle Province hoopin’ —— I’m the guy you want to listen to on this one. And I’m taking Montana State to get it done as the slightest of dogs on the Moneyline — because yours truly is a big fan of RaeQuan Battle. The former Washington man leads the Bobcats in scoring with 18.2 PPG to go along with 3+ boards, and just an all-around dog for this group. But frankly, the x-factor for this team is the guard play for Darius Brown II, he’s the man who gets this team into their sets and stirs the drink in ways the stat sheet doesn’t account for —- and frankly it’s what UNC Greenboro is craving.
Because their offense has struggled in the early season to get good looks — becoming very reliant on some hot jump shooting to help create space inside for Keondre Kennedy —- who leads the Spartans in scoring and rebounding with 15.2 PPG and 8.8 RPG. The issue though is the turnovers and foul shot shooting, things I harp on I know. But basketball is an easy game if you make it one —- get a good look every time down, get your defense set, and take the free points the other team gives you and you’ll just win most games.
Now that's obviously easier said than done, but on foreign soil, the little things matter all the more —- street signs are French, the air is cold, the women are beautifully flirty, and consistently is what you need to make those things dissipate. And I know exactly what I’m getting out of Montana State, and it should be enough to get the win on their travels abroad.
