I'm thinking of running a CFB Squares pool. RX gave me the grace to host it here, but can we get 100 squares filled??
My intentions were to run it for both the 1v4, 2v3 games as well as the Championship game but will time running short I think I would run just the Championship game at this point. Here's how it would go (I ONLY have PP or VenmO so thats the only payment options.)
Entry $50 per square (5,000) total pot
1st Qtr: winning square = 400 plus (4 sides = 50ea) = 600
2nd Qtr: winning square = 500 plus (4 sides = 75ea) = 800
3rd Qtr: winning square = 600 (4 sides = 100ea) (4 corners = 50ea) 1,200
FINAL Score: winning square = 1,000 (4 sides = 200ea) (4 corners =150) = 2,400
Payout Key:
'Winning square' is the square that correlates to the last digit of the assigned team's score for each quarter or final score. Finding those numbers on the randomly assigned numbers from the top row and the side column of the grid following those to see which square they intersect at.
'4 Sides' are the squares touching the sides of the winning square. If the winning square does not have all four (4) sides touching then the sides that are touching will split the remaining unclaimed sides for that quarter. (i.e; a top left corner square wins (square 1) that square only has two other sides touched by other players, those two touching sides will split the unclaimed two sides.
'4 corners' rules that apply to the 4 sides rule applies here except the squares that touch the corners of the winning square ONLY the diagonal squares (1 square per corner) are considered the '4 corner' square winners. (i.e; imagine an X going through the winning square, continue that X out of the square. Those squares that meet at the corner are the corner squares
Thats the gyst of it...I run this locally and its a favorite because you can still win your money back and then some if you're a corner square or a neighboring square on the sides.
If we can fill this I will host it. I know Im not a daily poster throughout the year, usually take a break through the summer but I've been around for a while. If anyone knows of a better way to bank the entry fees let me know I'm open to options. ... JOH and BAS are both jammed at the moment with other contests so they don't have the room to store the bank here.
I will start the interest list in the next post, if you are interested just reply and add your name to the interest list with how many squares you would take. I'd take 2 so I'll post twice once for each.
All numbers I would ask for volunteers to do a random number generator site I found for the list of 100 squares in order of paid squares and also to draw the numbers on the grid as well. This is to keep it fair and I would have nothing to do with the numbers ... other members would help out ...
K LETS GET THIS GOING
CHAMPIONSHIP GAME IS MONDAY JAN 8TH so would need to get this filled and spots paid for within next week or so
hope this fills
