And although he will miss Tuesday's Premier League outing to Blackpool, Redknapp expects Bale to be back in contention shortly.
"Gareth is slowly improving and hopefully he's on his way back," Redknapp told Sky Sports.
"He won't play tomorrow but shouldn't be out for too long."
Star playmaker Rafael van der Vaart is also out of contention after aggravating a calf injury in training. Van Der Vaart, who picked up the original knock in a 2-1 win over Bolton earlier this month, is expected to be fit again in 10 days' time.
Fellow casualties Vedran Corluka (leg) and Jonathan Woodgate (groin) will also miss the Tangerines clash as they nurse injuries sustained in last week's 1-0 win over AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League.
"Corluka had scans and will be out for a while, certainly not tomorrow and not sure how long after that," said Redknapp.
"Jonathan got a setback in Milan, he got a twinge and we felt it was pretty bad but it isn't, he's working his way back and shouldn't be too bad."
There is some good news for Redknapp as Luka Modric is available after a recent appendix operation
