The German coach of Angola retired prior to their first match. The team has some financial troubles with the football federation and did not show up for their training for three days !!!!!!!!!!

Dont expekt anything from them.

Africa will disappoint this year. Expect all 4 teams to go home after the first round. Angola with no points, Togo with none, Ivory Coast with maybe 1 and Ghana with 1.

Togo has been in disarray for a while. The players wanted bonues for goals and wins in the World Cup and that led to a dispute with the government. The coach that took them thru qualifying got fired after a dispute with a player. Way too many distractions for a team that is not that good anyways. One Africa team always seems to surprise and make the 2nd round. I think Team Drogba and Tunisia could do some damage

"The players, most of whom are with smaller European clubs, have been holding out for $200,000 each to play in the tournament, plus $39,000 each per win and $20,000 per draw."

Wow, that is insane. The players want the government to spend about 2% of TOTAL government revenues on them. Last year, Togo's government got $250 million in revenues and the players want a good chunk of that to go to them? Just stupid.
