Jazz/Grizzlies open with league-low total
Both the Memphis Grizzlies and Utah Jazz have been solid Under plays all season long and that is largely based on their offenses. The Grizz and Jazz are No. 26 and No. 29 in scoring offense this season respectively.
The last five meetings in Utah between the two clubs have gone under the total every time. The Grizzlies, who hold the NBA's best Under mark on the road this season at 12-21, have gone under in their last five road games. The Jazz have gone under in 70 percent of their last 10 games.
The Grizz and Jazz open with a league-low 184.5 total Wednesday night.
Raptors have been horrendous against Boston
The Toronto Raptors have been on fire and they've been especially strong against the spread on the road. However, the Raptors have an appalling ATS record against the Celtics.
The past 28 games between the Raptors and Celtics has seen Toronto carry a 7-20-1 ATS record, but it gets much worse. In the past nine times the Raps have played in the TD Center, they have not covered once, going 0-8-1 ATS.
These two teams have clashed in Boston once already this season with the Raptors were 4-point favorites, but lost outright to the Celtics 88-83. Toronto is currently a 3-point road fave for the meeting in Boston Wednesday.
Spurs put win streak on the line Wednesday
Riding a fantastic 14-game winning streak, the San Antonio Spurs have been the hottest team in the NBA. Not only on a straight up basis either. The Spurs have cashed in for bettors in eight-straight games against the spread.
The SU win streak started back on Feb. 26 with a 120-110 win over the Detroit Pistons. Since then, the Spurs have gone 11-3 ATS at the betting window. The offense has really led the charge for the Spurs, scoring 100-plus points in 11 of the 14 wins. Plus, two of the games saw the Spurs tally 99 points on the offensive end.
The Denver Nuggets will visit the Spurs Wednesday evening. San Antonio is currently a 13-point home fave in the matchup.
Pelicans F Anderson faces surgery
The New Orleans Pelicans confirmed Tuesday that forward Ryan Anderson will not return this season because of a herniated cervical disc.
Anderson is scheduled to undergo surgery on April 8 after treatment proved unsuccessful, the team announced. He has been sidelined since since Jan. 3 with an injury he sustained in a game against the Boston Celtics.
The 25-year-old Anderson played in 22 games this season and averaged 19.8 points and 6.5 rebounds.
In six NBA seasons with the Brooklyn Nets, Orlando Magic and Pelicans, Anderson has career averages of 12.3 points and 5.6 rebounds.
