not here to defend nba officiating at all. referee influence on games and flopping are the main reasons i'm not as into the nba as i was a decade ago. not that it's a recent trend but i guess as you grow older and wiser, you realize when you're getting played. can't blame the nba too much though. it's a biz and their M.O. has grown it to a global powerhouse.
having said that...
i have no problem with last night's out of bounds call/replay review. it was a bit screwy but the proper outcome resulted, which is what ultimately matters. it should've been a foul.. or if you think the clips player got all hand (which isn't a foul) then it's still okc ball because the hand is part of the ball.
i'm sure if you ask doc rivers to step back and look at the bigger picture, even he would agree that getting the right call is most important, regardless of how you get there. maybe the nba can add a replay rule exception which you can invoke in these instances to get the overall correct call (factoring in fouls/missed fouls or whatever).
but yea, i'd agree that the league wants okc to advance, and they should. the clips players are looking more and more like chumps every game they willingly play under their crazy old wealthy racist owner who can't keep his mouth shut.
and the fix factor should always be one of the filters in capping, imo. especially in nba capping. don't get angry, get on the right side or lay off the other side.
