I decided to create a new thread for Wednesday's CL matches for convenience sake. We had some very good discussions in that thread. I hope we have some more in this one.

Arsenal/Ajax under 2.5 +103 (PointBet)
Both teams have clinched entry into the next round. I think we'll see a replay of the Liverpool/Chelsea match here.

Barca/Udinese under 2.5 -125 (Carib)
See above.

Udinese actually needs a point to assure qualification, right (Tommy Smyth mentioned that Werder had an outside shot of qualifying)? Regardless, I think that would favor a 0-0 match...

Like The Arsenal/ajax Under ... No Desire To Watch The Game ... Think It Will Be A Boring Contest ... Perhaps 0-0 And Cant See More Than 2 Goals Max ...

Correct, Udinese needs a tie to assure qualification. However, I see Barcelona as not being to interested in this match so it shouldn't take much for a draw here.

Thanks CB. A boring contest can lead to good betting opportunities. I'll hopefully have a couple of those at halftime.

being the ahole again but I'm not sure why the enthusiam for the Under. The game has absolutely no meaning, very difficult to say what sort of game will emerge. I'm sure Ajax won't play 10 behind the ball as there is no point to that sort of strategy. Arsenal will rest 5 or so of their starters but still its believed Henry, Van Persie, Reyes and Fabregas will play. Lehmans (starting goalie) will not start and I'm not sure how steady their backup is.

Best to check the lineups in awhile to see what sort of lineups are being put out.

You're not being an ahole when you add valid points. I'm thinking back to yesterday's Liverpool/Chelsea match and seeing that they certainly didn't put much effort into that even with their stars in. Since these 2 matches today somewhat fit the same scenario as the Liverpool/Chelsea match it leads me to believe these 2 matches will go under as well.

Liverpool and Chelsea did have some meaning, Chelsea victory would've given them first place. Keep in mind Liverpool and Chelsea have the two best defensive records in the premiership. Chelsea has conceded 7 goals in 15 games while Liverpool 5 goals in 14 games. I don't think Liverpool has conceded in 4-5 games.

I wouldn't expect a similar game today. Whether or not it will result in 3+ goals is to be determined.

this under is a "fun-bet", but it definetely is the right side if you choose to bet the total. but there are much better matches to make money today, f.e all the overs in the mu group

Hey guys... I'm late, I know...

Again, pure gut shots today. We're gonna see some goals today... feeling it... And there's gonna be an explosion in group D I believe, with all of those teams needing victories for advancement. Especially like over in the Man U game. England's boys need the victory to assure going through, whereas Benfica's only chance is for victory. Looking forward to watching this match.

That being said, I'm going with Man U/Benfica over 2.5 at +122 at Pinnacle, and will almost certainly hit over in the 2nd half, particularly if there's a lead in the other match. Same thing with the other match though... Both teams need the W, and once we get ONE goal, all hell could break loose from there.

Also gonna go with over in the Juve/Rapid game. Juve plays great defense, but Rapid certainly doesn't. With this game being of little consequence to either side, I expect to see Rapid's defense end up breaking down, but just like Anderlecht, finding a way to tally in front of the home crowd to send them away with at least something to smile about. Juve with the small motivation to win the group, but not much to write home about otherwise.

Didn't list it in the initial post, but for what it's worth, I've got the over again today in the GS... Guess that makes me square... 1-0 Werder after 2 minutes...

Benfica's defense collapses... I've already seen 1 more goal than I did yesterday, and we're only 6 minutes in. Fireworks coming in group D when word gets over to Villareal...

I've got the game on TV... sitting on over 2.5... I have no idea what to do with myself actually having the highest scoring game of the day on TV... so used to 0-0 draws on television during this stupid competition (seen 2 Man U 0-0 draws and two Liverpool/Chelsea 0-0 draws...)

Very nearly 2-1 Man U, as Cristiano Ronaldo was clear through but was deemed to have pushed off... BS call... he's gotta be careful, already sitting on a yellow and maybe could have gotten the 2nd one for his display afterword... wouldn't need another situation like we had with Rooney in Villareal.

Sorry QL, I don't mean to hi-jack your thread...

What are the thoughts on this Udinese/Barca match? With Werder comfortably 2-0 in front at home, what are the odds this one ends 0-0? Can't see any reason Barcelona pushes forward, and the point means everything to Udinese. Have to think 0-0 or 1-0 home team for the rest of the way in this one...

Are you able to watch the Arsenal match or the Barca match?

Nope, just the one game again in the States. This one's at least exciting... I'd pay to see soccer like this every game...

Very nearly 2-1 Man U again. Great save by the Benfica goalie. Goals aplenty in the last 60 minutes of this one. 4-2 wouldn't surprise me at all, one way or the other.
