April 9 (Bloomberg) -- Korea's K.J. Choi moved into a tie for the lead with England's Justin Rose during the second round of the Masters Tournament, while three-time winner Tiger Woods has moved within six shots of the top spot.
Choi has three birdies over his first seven holes today at Augusta National Golf Club to get to 5-under-par for the tournament. First-round leader Rose, the youngest professional in the field at 23, made par on his opening hole.
Woods has two birdies over his first four holes today to get to 1-over-par for the tournament. The world's top-ranked golfer completed the final four holes of his first round this morning, then birdied the par-5 second and the par-3 fourth holes in the second round.
The projected 36-hole cut was 2-over after the first round.
Alex Cejka briefly moved into a tie with Choi and Rose with three birdies over the first six holes. He then made a bogey at the par-4 seventh to drop to 4-under overall.
Jay Haas and Chris DiMarco are tied for fourth after shooting 3-under 69 yesterday. DiMarco parred his opening hole, while Haas tees off at 12:57 p.m. New York time.
Two-time champion Jose Maria Olazabal and Darren Clarke are both 2-under. Olazabal, who won the tournament in 1994 and 1999, is 1-under through four holes today, while Clarke tees off at 1:19 p.m.
A two-hour rain delay yesterday afternoon forced the suspension of the first round with 18 players returning to finish this morning. No rain is forecast for today.
