The reigning champions will only be welcoming back a fraction of their fan base in September.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Chiefs have finalized plans for a reduced capacity of approximately 22% to kick off the 2020 season, the team announced Monday.

Among the finalization of plans is a comprehensive health and safety protocol not unlike those introduced by fellow NFL clubs in other cities. The Chiefs have rolled out enhanced cleaning and sanitation measures, will subject all staff members to health screenings upon arrival, and will direct all staffers to wear personal protective equipment and exercise proper hygiene.

For guests, physical distancing measures will be implemented, including in seating areas, as well as high-traffic areas. Hand sanitation stations have been installed throughout Arrowhead Stadium, which will be completely cashless to minimize staff-guest contact during transactions. As expected, masks are required for all who enter the complex, and the Chiefs will provide a commemorative mask for all who attend the first three games.

All bags, including previously approved clear bags, are prohibited inside the stadium to minimize security-guest contact. Smoking and spitting are prohibited inside the stadium as well, and distancing measures will be enforced in the parking lot for those who choose to tailgate.

The Chiefs joined a host of other NFL teams in introducing plans for fan attendance this season, including but not limited to the Cowboys, whose plan was built around its concept of seating pods and airflow throughout its home facility.

Great!

If every NJ beach and boardwalk can be packed all summer long and NJ to have one of the lowest infection rates in the country, it's obviously safe to be outdoors as long as somebody infected isn't right in you face for hours breathing on you.

No reason these stadiums shouldn't all be at 25% capacity.

If you worried about the concession lines and bathrooms it's no different then supermarkets and Costco lines. You'll be fine.

At least there is football. Sucks to be held under the gun as a fan to some bs....but like Willie states, it's a start.

I would imagine if 20% capacity is somewhat standard, prices for tickets on the secondary market will be darn pricey.

On the surface it appears there would be great demand
But 1/3 of the people are scared about the virus, others might decide it's not worth it without a full stadium experience and / or virus risk, still more might be concerned about their finances

So while I think demand exceeds supply, I don't think it's going to be crazy

As for me, I'll go to every game I can for a reasonable price

Hope you are right. I’d also like to attend a game if tix are reasonable.

Wonder if most teams end up allowing fans in limited capacity, if the Raiders will change course and allow them as well. With the dipshit governor of NV, probably not.

Would be sweet to make a trip to Vegas centered around a Raiders game.

Planned a trip the weekend they play Buffalo in early October. Still holding out slight hope the Raiders (and the dipshit governor) will come to their senses and allow fans in limited capacity.

Doubt they will be but hoping for the best. I think they'll be overpriced due to supply and demand. Could depend on the demographics but I see most cities setting the price high to start and No reason they wont get it, and raise prices as the season goes on.

Protest,Protest, there's no protests in football,..lol,..but really having some fans is better than none,Fans are a big advantage at Arrowhead, such as others,Seattle being another one

You will be watching it in the sportsbook as the Raiders already quoted no fans this season

Then I won't go to Vegas to watch a football game this year :)

But I'm going to be cheering for the Raiders to start coming in first place, so they'll play the Patriots every year

:)
