Chelsea to advance (-191) Moderately strong play Liverpool had a great effort at Stamford Bridge in the first leg holding Chelsea to a 0-0 draw. However, this scoreless draw means that a 1-1 draw puts Chelsea through. Also, the last few years Chelsea has been a major thorn in Liverpool's side. Chelsea has owned this team flat out. Chelsea has also shown they can win in Anfield, as evidenced by the Carling Cup victory that Chelsea claimed over Liverpool in the final game. Liverpool is a great team and are fun to watch, but the dream ends here for Liverpool. Chelsea is the top team in England this year and one of the top 3 club teams in Europe. I see this being a 2-1 Chelsea victory or a 1-1 draw in which case Chelsea would advance.

I was on the other side of this since before the 1st Leg match

LIVERPOOL +200 to Advance to CL FINAL

Liverpool showed everyone that they can play with the best teams in the world when they gave Juventus the boot from this competition. Liverpool has been a TOTALLY different team in Europe than they have been in the Premiership. The 2-1 win at home over Juventus and the 0-0 draw in Italy convinced me that Liverpool have what it takes to QUALIFY for the FINAL. Chelsea are a strong team offensively but since Wayne Bridge went down with an injury, their backline have become a little pourous. The 0-0 draw at Stamford Bridge was a very exciting first half and Liverpool could have actually come a way with a 1-0 win as they had quite a few chances. The second half was somewhat boring as both teams were afraid to concede a goal.

Liverpool will come out VERY aggressive at Anfield, very much like they did against Juventus when they went up 2-0 in the first 30 minutes. Anfield is a special place and the Liverpool supporters will be a huge lift for their team. Chelsea did not beat Liverpool at Anfield in the League Cup Final. The match was played at Milennium Stadium in Cardiff, and Liverpool were actually winning that match (1-0) until a Liverpool OWN GOAL in the 80th minute tied it up. Chelsea were very lucky and won the match after EXTRA TIME but Liverpool showed that they can play with Chelsea.

Several factors including Revenge for the League Cup defeat, Fatigue for Chelsea after the emotion of Winning the Premiership on Saturday, Home Advantage for Liverpool and the determination that Liverpool has shown in Champions League could very well add up to a Win for Liverpool and with a nice price tag of +200, it is DEFINITELY worth a shot.

rooting for Liverpool as well, but I have no confidence in Dudek between the pipes. He's due for a major slip up, just hope not this afternoon.

i'm interested to see how liverpool approach this game.
they could play for 0-0 and look to sneak a goal, as they showed in turin that they can hold a decent side out - although juve were rubbish on the day.

or they could accept that chelsea are likely to score and aim to get 2 themselves, attacking from the start. it would be terribly disappointing if they played conservatively and drew 1-1.

i don't see securing the prem title on saturday as being any distraction for chelsea. it's not like the league was close at all and if they didn't do it on saturday it would have been next week. there's no way they would have been out celebrating all weekend.

while chelsea were quite lucky in their wins over liverpool this season it may still play a part pyschologically. and i'll be pleased if they don't get another damn own goal.

some people have speculated that steven gerard isn't playing too hard because he doesn't want to upset his (rumoured) future employers, but that sounds like absolute rubbish

i think the biggest factor in the game will be the absence of xabi alonso for liverpool. as good as dietmar hamann is, he's not match fit and he doens't have the attacking creativity of alonso.

currently in asia you can back chelsea -0.25 at -111 which is what i'd be backing if i wasn't so keen on seeing a liverpool win.

wow.....unbelievable. Chelsea did not pick up a goal in 2 games against Liverpool. Gudjohnsen had a great opportunity to send Liverpool out in the last minute but missed the net. Oh well....just means I get the chance to bet against them again against AC Milan in a month.

LIVERPOOL WIN!!!!!

+200 WINNER!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't feel so confident about Milan. It's a 1 Game, Winner-Take-All and ANYTHING can happen!! Liverpool have proven ONCE AGAIN that they are a team to be reckoned with!

I'm very happy with the result. But Sky has shown all types of animations which appear to indicate that the goal really wasn't.

Good for Chelsea and Roman. Money couldn't buy everything.

but mr. jones you have to trust that their animations are correct and accurate. i think that the ball was either over or most of the way over the line but sky's animations show it was only just touching the line - more on the field of play.

also, surely cech's challenge on baros was a penalty and given the choice, i think chelsea would rather concede the goal than face a penalty and have a man down for 85 minutes.
