I'm one who has been warning since the first of the shutdowns against the bureaucrats and policymakers being shortsighted to the economic and humanitarian crises they would create by the shutdowns.

I remain in that camp. The consequences are becoming apparent to most by now. Some are simply too obtuse or self absorbed to ever understand the devastating, unintended consequences of these decisions. We aren't close to seeing the worst of these policy decisions yet.

But I am always open to informed alternate viewpoints.

I have COPD and am in the most vulnerable class.

This guy breaks this virus down from a medical viewpoint much better than any other thing I've viewed or read. Worth the time to watch and listen.

In the months & years to come we can compare how things turn out in places like Mexico versus countries that shutdown their economy. Then see which did better in terms of economy, deaths, etc.

Why did you post this video Michelangelo?

He paints a worse picture of the future than Trump & many experts who advocated the economic shutdown and "social distancing" measures.

His video is dated March 23 & here are my notes from it:

He says few people infected will never show no symptoms. 80% bad flu like symptoms, 20% more serious issues, 5% will need IC & a respirator.

He informs that the lungs go almost from the top of your shoulders to your waist. They are huge.

If your pimp sticks your head underneath water in the toilet bowl, how long can you hold your breath, he asks.

At one point after he touches his face & nose several times with his hand, he claims his hands are clean, even though they've been touching several other objects before that. ~ 13 minutes

People die from COVID-19 as a result of their own immune response killing them (by filling their lungs up with fluid followed by organs failures). ~ 17-25 minute mark approx

80% bad flu like symptoms, 3% will die (21 min), incl. 50% of those put on a ventilator.

We will not hit the peak till mid May (27:25)

You "need to take this much much more seriously" 30 min

Too many people are going to die. The "death toll will increase in July". 30 min

He says to give people a virtual bitch slap that think this thing is overblown, media hype, fear mongering, 29:13.

The USA will hit a million cases & that's a best case scenario 31:45

We USA are 2 weeks behind Italy & worse off than Italy was 2 weeks ago. 33 min

Fair enough, but do you agree with what he says? Your comments in the OP may appear to some to give the impression that you'ld be opposed to the primary message, and much of the content, of the video.

It certainly alleged to inform in much detail re how the COVID-19 virus kills a person, so was quite grim. Since i am not a doctor qualified in the field of viruses, & have not researched the matter, i cannot say whether the video of the doctors' opinions inform regarding the truth on the matter. But neither do i have any reason to doubt him. And from what little i've heard from other experts aligns with what he said.

As to his declarations about how many will die, the death rate, & degree of the doom & gloom about to come this summer, his conclusions are amongst the worst i've heard. Whether or not it will be that bad, i cannot say, so do not consider such remarks "informative" as in truth, but merely the opinions of one guy on youtube.

He's quite eloquent & presents things in an excellent manner so that most lay people should probably be able to understand him. I haven't seen anyone else explain in such detail, either. But i doubt you'ld see Trump or his experts scare people like that on national television.

Yeah, mocking him for a month of horrible posting (which was outlined in the thread) which included mocking those who told him the issue was serious, profanely mocking anyone that asked how it is going to change American life, making horrible analogies and being 100% wrong in what he thought would happen (as well as doing in the most obnoxious tone possible)

Also, my point was that resource scarcity with states fighting for fed equipment isn't too shocking to anyone that thought the issue was serious.

So of course it had to do with the thread. In the sense that it is something someone that didn't think this would blow over in a month could see coming.
