the only good thing to come out of auburn...

“We are in a divided country,” Barkley said. “Sports used to be a place where fans could go and get away from reality. Now it’s such a mixture. It’s going to be fascinating watching what happens with the fans. Fans are at a disadvantage, they’re going through the pandemic. They don’t want to see a bunch of rich people talking about stuff all the time. I don’t think there’s a right or wrong answer.

I've always liked Barkley; he was a great player. But I REALLY began to admire the guy
for a different reason: HE SAYS EXACTLY WHAT'S ON HIS MIND, POLITICS BE DAMNED.

In 1992 the USA sent our NBA pros to the Summer Olympics (along with a couple
collegians) for the very first time....because we'd LOST in 1988 to foreign "amateurs"
who were, in fact, pros.

...At the opening ceremonies, the USA Basketball team was introduced. One by one,
the Americans -- Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, and several others -- went up to the
microphone and SAID SOMETHING POLITE, AND POLITICALLY CORRECT.

"It's an honor to be here".

"We're looking forward to some great competition".

Ho-hum...

Then Barkley stepped up: "YA'LL TOOK SOMETHIN' THAT BELONGS TO US!
WE'VE COME TO TAKE IT BACK!"

Then they went 8-0 with an average winning margin of 40 points!

No wonder the guy has a career in sports media! cheersgif

A lot of people should heed this advice, not just "rich people"

At 8pm last nite, I turned to TNT as i thought it was a show about the upcoming season.

Nope, it was a show about social issues with D-Wade, Barkley, and Draymond Green. Turned the channel after 10 minutes

Damn, Draymond Green? Seriously? Did he suggest you kick white people in the nuts and pretend it was an accident?

I turned the channel 10 minutes in and watched Family Guy reruns.

I learned more through Peter, Quagmire, and Joe than Dwayne, Chuck, and Draymond

Maybe the new life, energy and ideas of a progressive change agent will turn things around. Joe Biden is their answer. The NBA will soon learn when you get woke, you go broke.
