It really matters when they played 8 years ago, head to head past 2 years don'e mean shit. Stop acting like 30 degrees is going to matter, that is not that cold, players will be warm within minutes of running up and down the field, wind, rain and snow are the only wetaher factors, not 30 degrees. If the temp is not near 0, then it will not factor. it is in the mid 40's in san diego at nights, and trust me, if you run for one minute you will be warm.
Being a SD fan you basically don't understand the Field in Pitt. I worked on building it and the surface is the worst. Unless you play on it ever week, you will have trouble running as is gets slippery as hell. This game will be played in temperatures in the teens, something the first game between these 2 didn't not have, which was in the high 30's. It will also be getting dark in Pitt when this game starts at 4:15, and the field being located on the river, will feel like single digits. I just moved from Ca. and 30 there at night is nothing compared to single digits with the wind sweeping through the field.

This surface will be like running on glass and the Steelers are counting on that condition to help their #1 defense even more.
The line is 6 because Gates and LT won't be a factor in this one. You can cut on this suface with a bad leg, just ask Willie Parker, who struggled on it when he was hurt.

With a week to rest, Big Ben and Co will be ready, and the weather conditions, which SD isn't built for will hurt them in the end.
If you can't play Power Football, you can't win in these conditions.

Pitt wins by 10-17 points this week, just watch and see.

the refs owe one to pitt backers so i say they win by 7.......... they count a field goal with one second left that never happened

carolina and pitt covers, warner freezes and SD will run out of adrenaline high from the indy win
eagles lose or win within 3
ravens win, but I dont like the public being all over them, if the line wont move from +3 and 60%+ on ravens then vegas will clean up with the titans.
I was 4-0 last week lets keep them coming

SD is on a roll and may be playing their best ball,
at the right time. Remember the Giants peaked at the
right time, so did the Steelers, in the years they won their championships.
They both won on the road as well.

The Steelers O-line is average at best. Ben is prone to
turning the ball over. A dangerous combo.
The Steeler's defense is rested and should pressure Rivers.
QB's, outside of Collins, have not faired well against the Steelers.
The advanced forcast is for a windy day, 19 mph.
If PGH wins this game, it will be because of their defense
and because Parker has a big day. He looked good in
the first game against SD. He looked fast in the last game
of the season, against the Browns. I know the Browns were terrible this year.
So, I am not judging their efforts, I am saying Parker showed the burst
of speed that he had last year, that was missing most of this year.
I think Pittsburgh wins a close game, 20-17.

Leaning Chargers... PITT's offense is horrid... Ben holds on to the ball way to long... I think turnovers may be the difference of the game...

If the Chargers does not turn the ball over, I think they have a good chance of covering if not winning it outright!!!

ron rivera has the charger defense playing very well...they are playing their best football right now...hell even cromartie has started covering wr's...

so i believe that it will be a defensive struggle...

and if the game goes down that way...chargers have the edge in special teams by a mile.

while the steelers have an excellent defense...and a shitty field...defense travels this time of year...

chargers +6.5 was my play.

Here is the problem by taking S.D. Their last 5 games were against the worst teams against the run:

Indy 24th - S.D GOT 167 YDS RUSHING
DEN - 27TH - S.D. GOT 289 YDS RUSHING
TAMPA 19TH - S.D. GOT 90 YDS RUSHING
K.C. 30TH - S.D GOT 68 YARDS RUSHING
OAK 31ST - S.D. GOT 158 YARDS RUSHING

Pgh is #1 against the run. The problem with taking the favorite in this game will be the field will be a mess. It is the worst field in the NFL. If this game was on a good, dry, field, Pgh would win going away but the field gives S.D. a chance for a cover. Rivers is going to have to have the game of his life because Parker is fianally healthy. Pgh is going to give the ball the Parker 30 times in this game. PGH didn't need the last game against Clev but Parker ran the ball 23 times in a 27-0 game. He played well into the 4th quarter to gets those legs in shape for this game. Forget S.D.'s running game. They have two problems: Field condition and PGH #1 against the run. You can't even compare the teams that S.D. beat their last 5 games to PGH'S defense. I am going to wait to see what the field looks like. I either take Pgh or I will pass. No way I take SD because of their last 5 games. Eerybody says that S.D. is on a roll but look who they beat in their last 5 games.

the thing about teams that get on a streak...it takes their confidence to a new level & that is huge for the way this charger team was built...they are very young...and they are playing at a very high level now...especially on defense.

so imo, it really doesnt matter who they beat...because they just knocked the league's hottest team and mvp out of the playoffs. that says it all...most talking heads had the colts in the superbowl...

now i am pretty sure that many bettors looked at the same thing...the 4 wins coming into that game...3 in the afc west...lt's injury...and that explained the line movement. i was able to get +3 right at kickoff...and am expecting to be able to get +7/7.5 right at kickoff this sunday...

the bolts earned their 8-8 record this season...but

the chargers 8 losses this year were by a total of 34 points...a little over 4 points per loss....and of the 8 losses, the only bad one was vs atlanta at home. sure the steelers had a fine season...12-4, but their 4 losses were by a total of 37 points...there is no question in my mind that this is going to be a dogfight that the chargers not only cover...but have a real shot at winning s/u.

history shows this talented group is capable of anything...

14-2 lose to ne...div round

11-5 lose to ne...afc champ

8-8 would not put anything past 'em.

people forget that this group of bolts was 25-7 the last two years.

my man chuck, right on point as usual. if you don't live in the 'burgh, it may be difficult for you to understand what these conditions amount to. a west coast team, coming into our house, where the conditions will be hell for the team across the land...pittsburgh wins by 7+. call it a homer statement, or what have you. pittsburgh covered the last game (in my eyes, it was a horribly scripted call by the NFL) - this time i believe they will ACTUALLY cover, without some phantom reviews. good luck san diego, without LT and a banged up gates (and vincent jackson getting another DUI), as you will desperately need it.

I can't believe anyone in their right mind would lay 6 on a team whose quarterback suffered a concussion 2 weeks back.

Remember how Ben played off his motorcycle accident? :ohno:

I fckn hate pittsburgh more than anything...Being from Clev and all....But lets be realistic folks...San Diego doesn't stand a chance in PA! I wouldn't be surprised to see this line move over 7 or 8
