Greetings,

will flirt with danger today as follow:

Spartak at SPORTING
Sporting were highly disappointing in champions league play. Now, with nothing to play for, they face a Spartak Moscow team that is in my opinion is considerably inferior at all levels of the game. Sporting is highly unpredictable at home, capable of scoring goals in bunches when you least expect it. Although they have scored a mere 2 goals in 5 Champions games, I am inclined to believe that they will have more success against a <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Moscow squad that does have serious defensive issues. I believe the Portuguese will want to atone for their previous lackluster performances – especially at home in front of their fans – and will try to set the tone early.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
The plays: highly unorthodox, to say the least.
FIRST HALF: SPORTING at PK and -0.5 -115 (5 units)
FIRST HALF: SPORTING / MOSCOW over 1 +121 (2.5 units)
For the game: SPORTING -0.5 and -1 -108 (4 units)

Shakhtar at OLYMPIAKOS
Combined, these two have allowed 20 goals against. Shaktar, has an outside shot of going through to the next round; they must win and hope for a Roma loss. Olympiakos with a mere 2 points in Champions matches, and no wins, should make the effort for the victory at home. I see both these teams scoring, and don’t consider the over 2.5 goals all that dangerous.
The play: OLYMPIAKOS over 2.5 goals + 110 (4 units)

Werden Bremen at BARCELLONA
It seems the odds makers think this will be a high scoring affair. They might be right, and the final outcome might justify this. Yet, consider the following:
1- Both defenses are exceptional.
2- Consider what is at stake for both these teams
3- With no room for mistakes, the first goal could set the pace.
4- First half should be very cautious with both teams in <st1:date Year="2002" Day="4" Month="4">4-4-2</st1:date> mode.

The play: I know it’s risky, but I’ll take a chance:
FIRST HALF: Barcellona under 1 and 1.5 -135 (4 units)

In my opinion, I see better value in tomorrow’s matches. On a side note, Valencia / Roma under 2.5 goals now at -140.

Cheers and good luck to all.
