is it just me or are cfl totals very unpredictable? it's probably due to the wide open game. i mean you can be on pace to go way under and you can have 25 pts scored in the 4th. you don't get that in the nfl really. i used to do ok picking totals with toronto past couple years when they had that defense, I'd just take the under no matter what it was set at. but this year the totals are just something to stay away from, at least for me. sides are going well though.
Betting on totals in the CFL is truly like playing with fire. Its a total coin flip and crap shoot. There are games that are on pace for under and have numerous touchdowns scored after the 3 minute warning of the 4th quarter when the clock actually stops. Also on the flip side of things you can end up seeing a game that is on pace to fly over the total only have teams repeatedy kick second half FG or play for field position with rouges (singles) as its only 3 down football. You are correct that you would not see this in US College football or NFL totals can go one way or another in a matter of time and there truly is no way to accurately tell in the long in this league. #1 rule of thumb for betting CFL is to not touch the totals. You may get lucky and hit a few here and there but in the end you cannot strongly cap the outcome of the amount of majors/FG's/singles that will be scored with so much wacky things that can happen.
