Jay'Vion Cole is the player of the game for the Spartans. He's an excellent CB and it's just a Soph. OLine also provided good protection until 4q.

Both teams had issues with penalties

Cordeiro showed a very inconsistent play. Mostly overthrows. WRs didn't help with drops.
Nice last drive in garbage time by backup soph QB Jay Butterfield ending in a TD. He tossed some beautiful passes an escaped from the pressure like a veteran. Good.

Spartans staff sucks, Brennan is in the hot seat.

UIagalelei threw some darts and looked solid. Backup frosh QB Aidan Chiles :chilipepp:chilipepp played one drive with some good throws and nice mobility.

I think the Beavers can compete in the PAC-12 and upset some conference foes.

LSU/FSU:
  • I can't believe that preseason ranked #5 and #8 can both have so concerning tackling problems. (especially LSU).
  • Outstanding work by FSU OLine, providing an A+ protection and keeping Harold Perkins out of play.
  • Travis looked really great! He escaped from the pocket when felt the pressure by showing a very nice awareness. He also ran when needed and threw some beautiful dimes.
  • The Seminoles converted 8/13 3rd downs. Brian Kelly has work to do.
  • LSU's energy went down in 2nd half. The defense started to make mistakes and Jayden Daniels finished the day as the player with the most rushing yards. Mostly escaping for his life.
  • I think this FSU team can be a national contender. They've been building this team for years, absorbing talent from the transfer portal and developing the underclassmen who already were in the program. This can be their year if they fix the tackling issues.

Did Clemson already wake up? After 1Q I thought it was just a slow start. Nonetheless, Debo Swinney was incapacitated to make any adjustments on this mistake-plagued team.

Duke's front 7 did a brutal job of making Klubnik feel uncomfortable all night. Clemson's D was HORRIBLE. They weren't able to stop the run and missed a lot of tackles. They were like playing half-speed.

This is going to cost them the ACC (FSU looks much more solid) and Dabo might be in the hot seat if they're not able to bounce back and finish with a double-digit win season.

But to be fair, Clemson finished with more total yards than Duke (+48 net). -1 in TO battle. So this should have been a close game statistically. Covering the spread was never a possibility.

Week 1 record: 7-10
