Tonight will be a very memorable night and more than likely be one of the greatest college football games of all-time. Yeah, I'm just kidding about that part. However, the Northern Illinois Huskies and the Central Michigan Chippewas will engage in some midweek MACtion tonight.
Since that opening loss to Oklahoma State, Central Michigan's defense has been rather consistent. The Chippewas have been relatively strong against the run this year, allowing an average of just 123.1 rushing yards to opponents, and have allowed 29.3 points per game in MAC play. That will be crucial when playing against the over 200-yard-per-game rushing offense of Northern Illinois. They'll contain the running backs tonight to a minimum.
You really have to look at the human element of the fact that Northern Illinois is playing in this game with literally no motivation. The Huskies are the current MAC champions, but they must win out to even be eligible for bowl games.
The line has increased in CMU's favor which of course means more value for us. Also, I'm liking CMU enough in this contest where I will (not might) do a bit of sprinkling on the ML. Yes, I believe they have a very good chance to win this game straigt-up. As always, good luck with everything that you play tonight.
