OZONE PARK, N.Y. - Racing resumes Thursday after a two-day break with a pick-six carryover of $34,817. Feeling lucky? Here are plays of $64 and $192 for those who want to take a shot:

Race 4: The new shooter Precise Strike is by Precise End, last year's leading first-crop New York-bred sire, and out of a Phone Trick mare - in other words, speed on top of speed.

If It's Meant to B is marginally best among the experienced runners, as long as she gets a fast racetrack. She blew out swiftly last Sunday, 11 days after an against-the-bias effort to finish second.

Those two are on the $64 ticket.

The $192 ticket adds Juliams Jade, a half-length behind If It's Meant to B recently, and second-time starter Distinctive Flag, who gets Lasix after racing greenly first out.

If Precise Strike is being absolutely pounded at the windows, it might be best to call an audible and trim out Juliams Jade and Distinctive Flag and look to add more fringe contenders in another leg.

Race 5: Glittering Racket couldn't hold on to his lead on a speed-friendly surface last out, but the 10-time winner is always a threat and has won before without the early lead.

Vroom Hilda has been a gem of consistency on fast tracks and is being raised aggressively by Scott Lake after running through a speed bias to win from off the pace Feb. 3.

This is a good spot to add more back-ups as affordability allows.

Race 6: The single, whether it be for $64 or $192, is Graded by Results, one of several who battled for the lead in a Jan. 20 maiden special weight route and the only one who was anywhere close at the wire. Three of his most dangerous rivals have already lost for $32,000 or less.

Race 7: The small and large tickets will try to navigate through this leg using Coded Princess, who drops to an easier spot and zipped a fast half-mile work last week, and Perfectly Quiet, whose only two-turn dirt start was a horrible trip in a restricted stakes. Race 8: Again, using two runners on small and large tickets. Coeus and Niadhas were separated by less than a length after a foggy 1 3/16 miles last time out, a route effort that makes them stand out here. Race 9: The $64 play uses Golden Trieste and Siddartha, the fastest of these maiden claimers. The $192 ticket also uses Sailwind, a second-time starter dropping from $50,000 to $25,000 after a wide debut.

I've done group play on Pick 4's and 6's before (generally M1 Pick 4's when I find one I really like, of the Bal-Cal from Balmoral and Cal expo... I have done Pick's on the Breeders' Cup days and ahd some success catching 5 of 6 on a few occasions)... I'll take a look at Thursday Aqueduct and let you know what I think about the races.

excellent Smooth , should be a decent pool and w/ a little work , i think the three of us could come up w/ a decent ticket by exchanging thoughts on the sequence,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,card has what looks like two singles , so we might be able to do it fairly inexpensively too :103631605

I got the PP's... going to get into that card after lunch... generally I have to like 4 of the 6 legs (or 3 of the 4 on a Pick 4) to play one. AL would be the guy to ask for help with this one, he is pretty sharp with his Aqueduct picks!

AQ looks like there's chalk in EVERY leg that COULD do it. That usually means it's a pass for me. Here's who I think the public will bet..

3 8/1 7/1 3/1 6/1 6/7 9

and here's who I think could upset..

1 6 7/4 7 8/2 4 6/2 3 4/2 3 4/3 6 11

Spread races look to be the 4th, 6th and maybe the 9th..Still leaves
too many chalks and too short a payoff for real good value IMO from the
horses I capped.
I'm going to look at GP and OP to see if I can come up with a better bet for the money. Be back later..GL

I agree pj, it is a pass for me too. Here's what I came up with... I have my 'contenders' and my 'on the bubble' horses:

Race 4 - 3,6 (1/1a,7,8)
Race 5 - 1/1a,5,6 (7,8)
Race 6 - 3 (1,6)
Race 7 - 6 (1,3)
Race 8 - 1a,6 (2)
Race 9 - 7,9 (4,6)

Just using the contenders, that is 24 combinations ($48, if I remember correctly it is a $2 minimum bet and you can't do $1 with multiple combinations)

If I had to tap the 'on the bubble' horses, I may use the 9th race selections, maybe the 1-entry in Race 4, and the 8 in Race 5.... that ticket would be 96 combinations ($192).

The horse I give the best chance of winning is Race 6 - #3 (9-5)... Honestly I feel he has a 65% chance of winning this race, but am scared by the 1... if you add this to the mix, you are looking at 192 combinations for $384... hard to justify that kind of wager if the day runs chalky.

I think we will need to revisit this after we see the scratches.

Good Luck today!

I think you're right smooth. There's just too many chalks that have a good chance and IF THEY win, it's a losing proposition for my buck.

Here's some more things to ponder.

OP
Spread races look to be the first 3 legs. If we can get some price
horses out of those it looks like the last 3 are no more than 2 each.
I'll list these with the prob fav/then ones I think could win at a price
R3..4 2/6 1 5
R4..7 8/4 1 5
r5..7 3/5 1 2
r6..10/4 6 8 12
r7..4/1 2 3 8
r8..5 7/2 6 8
GP
Looks tasty!!
4 spread races IMO..5th 6th 8th and 10th..
r5..I'm leaving the 5 out and take a shot with the 4/1 2 3 7
r6..7/1 2 4 9
r7..11 9/1 7 8
r8..5/3 4 6 8
r9..9 looks tuff/1 8
r10..14 if draws in/2 3 7 10
AQ note***
The 5 in the 5th is one I think has a real shot, but
I also think everyone will think that. I would use it as a single
or add the 8 if you think the 1 and 7 will falter.
Off to Tampa where I KNOW there's some prices..LOL

After reviewing the scratches, my new ticket would likely be:

R4 - 1/1a,3,7
R5 - 1,5,8
R6 - 1,3
R7 - 1,6
R8 - 1a,3
R9 - 4,7,9

Now this is 216 combinations.... a little too rich for my blood so I'm going to pass on this race... with the likely off tracks, I felt it necessary to add horses to the two races I could have keyed.

Good luck if you are taking a shot at this today!
