Texans vs. Panthers
Noon Sunday, Ch. 26
·Records: Panthers 6-1; Texas 2-5.
·Last meeting: First meeting.
·The matchup: The Panthers don't try to fool you. It's run, run, run. RB Stephen Davis leads the NFC in rushing with 839 yards and is on pace to shatter the team record of 1,120 yards, held by Anthony Johnson. Carolina is second in the NFL with 161 rushing yards per game, which could create problems for the Texans, who rank 20th against the run (117 yards per game). Of greater concern for the Texans is the absence of QB David Carr, out with an ankle injury. Tony Banks will start against a Panthers defense that has 17 sacks, including eight from DL Mike Rucker.
·By the numbers: Panthers are the first team with three overtime road wins in one season.
·Fantasy view: Texans RB Domanick Davis leads NFL rookies with 409 yards rushing, and WR Andre Johnson, the No. 3 overall pick in draft, leads AFC rookies with 35 catches.
·The line: Panthers by 6 1/2; O/U: 37.
I like the Under 37. GL to you
