this post has been quite accurate except for 2 things

no card counter in the world will win on an insurance bet 60-70% of the time
They only take the bet if more than one third of the cards left are 10's

Second of all you will play with a lot of retards
They can affect you in the short term i.e. one hand but overall it doesnt matter

I play basic strategy and count- Im only at about half of where i want to be with counting my main problem is knowing how many decks are left- Many people get pissed at me for hitting a 12 vs a 2 which should be done anyway but especially if i hit a 12 vs 6 b/c the count was negataive swaering i took the bust card
I cant yell back hey asshole the counts negative so I just say some bullshit about I was feeling lucky

Anyone who says card counting isn't fun doesn't like to win money.
Simply knwoing that you can bring multibillion dollar companies to their knees is fun in and of itself.

I recommend Million Dollar Blackjack by Uston.

although there are some mistakes in it, it incorporates, counting, strategy and some good stories.

BTw I do believe more has been spent on card counting counter measures than what the casinos have lost to counters. Casino's best friend is someone that thinks they can but can't, one mistake an hour takes posev and makes it negev.

I think there may be more merit in shuffle tracking these days.
