Car Insurance-Do ANY companies offer 1 year policies?

Maybe just in my state...but all I see the insurance companies offer is 6 month policies.
Is this throughtout the US....or just in Va.?

i have an annual policy and i think i always have had annual renewal stuff, never less than that. i live in NY state

Well, thanks Mrscheater. I used to pay my car insurance once per year until about 4 or 5 years ago, when Va. companies stopped offering them for a year. Now 6 months....Anyone here from Virginia with a 1 year policy--please let me know..Trying to find out if this IS telling the truth here.
