btw , they were probably nice/new hyundais........I imagine the POS Hyundai I pictured initially.......doesnt have any type of insurance as the premium is probably 1/4th of the total value of the car LOL

Costarican roads are designed for less than half of the cars that are running through the city now, so this might be just one of a series of atempts to clean the streets of heavy traffic...

How does that logic work? The rate of the Costa Rican population, cars, and drivers is exponentially going up. Couple that with roads designed for horse drawn carriages back in the late 19th century, which have potholes in them. Then restrict those cars from entering the capital to do regular business related activities e.g postal couriers, lawyers registering corporations, and sportsbook employees driving to work; You get a stagnant economy which makes the cost of gas seem more expensive and the quality of life goes down. You lost me on your macroeconomics teachings there Konig. Please enlighten me.

BTW, they want to change a law to help traffic flow and decrease gas usage, change the accident law, require vehicles immediately move out of traffic for any non-injury accident.

Then tell me why I would pay double marchamo, double maintenance, double insurance, and double registration to avoid paying a $10 fine? Just got back the other day and my friends said that you cannot drive downtown once a week because of the number of your license plate...CR officials saying they have to do something because of the gas crisis...what's up with this? My take is that if you can afford the gas and want to drive, then go for it...there are many conscious people out there who would start using other modes of transportation like buses or such to save money...anybody have any idea how this is working out? And how much is the fine if you are caught driving downtown on the one day you are not supposed to? And what are the boundaries? I figure if officials would fix the lights and have some traffic cops out there, everything would run smoother...Judge Wapner told me that because my plate ends in 9, that I cannot go downtown and visit my watering holes on Friday nights...

Best chance they have to catch me is after midnite Fri. morning...like around 1AM or 2AM which qualifies as Fridays...GD, you are right, the toll plaza is going to have their hands full...besides if the tickets are 5000, the cops will settle for two or three rojos (5 bucks or so) this law just makes it easier for the cops to make a few bucks...
