WEEK 2: 3-0 (+6.0 UNITS)
2005 SEASON TOTAL: 5-0 (+10.0) UNITS)
WEEK 3 PICKS
CALGARY -3 over Winnipeg
The bye week in the first week of the season hurt Calagary. All cylinders will be firing for the Stampeders when they visit Winnipeg and Burris should shine against a weak Winnipeg defence. Also, the Calgary defence should have no problem controlling the line of scrimmage against a Winnipeg offensive line that is a work in progress.
EDMONTON +3 over Montreal
The Allouettes are still smarting after their embarassing OT loss to Ottawa last week. They will be hungry for a win to put that game out of their heads but getting a win against Edmonton is not going to be that easy. Through the first 2 weeks Edmonton have shown that their defence is the best in the league and a slow footed Calvillo should be an easy target. Edmonton have also demonstrated that they are a force on offence and the Montreal defence will have their hands full trying to contain Ricky Ray.
BC LIONS -13 over Ottawa
The Lions will not make the same mistake Montreal did last week. B.C. is the class of the CFL this year and they will not let up against Ottawa in their home opener on Friday. There should be a large crowd on hand for this game and the domed stadium noise will cause lots of problems for the Ottawa offence. I expect the Lions to win this game by 20+ points.
TORONTO -3 over Saskatchewan
Saskatchewan are 2-0 so far this year but look who they have beaten. Winnipeg and Hamilton - unquestionably the 2 worst teams in the league. The Roughriders did not look particularily good against Hamilton last week in a very ugly game where both offenses relied on numerous penalty calls to move the ball. Saskatchewan's offence is also pretty banged up coming into this game with Dominguez and Keith both questionable. The Argos only other game at home this year was a loss to B.C. so they will be very eager to give the hometown crowd something to cheer about. Toronto will win this game by AT LEAST a converted touchdown.
